Component Speaker sound
I got 2016 is200t f sport
decided to change stock speakers to Alpine speakers R-series with 6 channel Amp and sub.
they put component speakers in the front and tweeters on top above dash.
all i hear is the tweeters…I barely hear the component speakers in the front doors
is that how component speakers work?
I told the guy i am looking for loud and clear music but I can barely hear the component speakers.
then the guy said I should have went with coaxial speakers
component speakers cost more than coaxial so i thought they were better but there is barely any sound coming from them.
he said they are all hooked up to the amp
But i feel something is not right…
My question is…is that how component speakers work with barely any sound coming from them…all I hear are the tweeters from above the dash

May seem obvious but you should hear sound from all the components. I can only guess but maybe the amplifier is not set up correctly for example high/low pass filter, level, that kind of thing.

I do hear sound but it’s not loud
it just sounds like normal stock speakers
i changed out the speakers and added amp to make it louder
I was expecting loud and clear but sounds like normal stock speakers

What 6-channel amp do you have? Or is that a complete system in a box?

Man, I would not touch that audio shop ever again if I were you. Selling and installing things and then stating you should have went the cheaper option is scumbag tactics and it seems this guy does not know how to tune a system properly. Also since they worked on your car you are having issues with your windows working (which hopefully is just a fuse, but still, a good shop would test these things before returning it to the customer). Avoid that place. I worked as a car A/V installer in my younger years, that shop is amature hour imo.
To properly tune the frequencies and gain of each of your speakers to get a good sound stage, you will want a 6 channel line output converter, something like this:
https://www.audiocontrol.com/car-aud...-upgrade/lc7i/
^ that will allow you to change the gain and frequencies to each sets of speakers.
Edit: taking a look at your amp, it seems to have a fairly robust filter and gain settings, most amps have filter settings and have an overall gain, but not all have gain per channel adjustment, but looks like yours does! You may not need an output converter as i originally thought, the amp just needs to be tuned correctly. The LC7i would do a much better job at filter and balancing sound than the amp alone, but not a must have since your amp has some nice tuning features.
Try increasing the gain on your front door speaker channel, and if needed reduce the tweeters gain slightly if they are overpowering. Also set the frequency filters to to the range needed for that speaker set. The shop should have done this for you.

Forgot to mention they had to re-wire everything and put JL audio Fix 86 to make it all work.
Just dropped off the car to their shop again.
Told them to go ahead and install the alpine r-series co-axials in the front door speakers.
I read somewhere it’s easier to hookup the amp to the co-axial speakers than component speakers.
hopefully they get this right.
I got the alpine co-axials in the back doors and they sound 10 times better than the front component speakers so I just told them to go ahead and install coaxials in the front also.
component speakers are probably way better if installed correctly.
Also told them to fix my windows and locks switch.
lost a lot of sleep last night all stressed out about all this…
hopefully they get all this done
on the positive note..the alpine r-series sub sounds great

Right on, make them fix it!
Just FYI, if you weren't aware, the OEM front door speaker is a 8" mid-range speaker, the dash handles the highs. If your highs sound good, then a coaxial in the front door tuned to mid range frequency should sound great, just needs to be tuned and balanced properly

So they installed coaxial speakers and left the battery disconnected overnight to reset the master drivers door switch lock mirror problem and now the navigation does not turn on.
The window, lock, mirror still don’t work from drivers side and navigation does not turn on.
what could be the problem now?
