The console is needed to accommodate the switch assembly. Since yours already has factory heated seats, you’ll just pop the heated seat control/switch assembly out and swab with the dual heated/ventilated unit. Here’s what the console looks like without the heated seat option.

I don’t think it’s necessary, but I did disconnect the battery before removing the seat.
Perfect, thanks!

Do I have to get the heated + vented seats button like this one?
or will the one with the heated steering wheel option work as well?

This is the heated seats + vented seats:

So the pigtail / wire harness is the same. I’m 99.98% sure it’ll work just fine. If you were to press the heated steering wheel button, nothing would happen, obviously unless you have the factory heated steering wheel. I actually wish I had found one with the heated steering wheel button In case I decide to upgrade one day. Oh well. 😊

That's exactly why I asked because I plan on doing that mod later down the road.

Thanks again!

Did you happen to take photos of the connections under your new vented seats?? (wanted to compare them to the driver seat that I just got)

I'm in the middle of swapping my interior, but the new driver seat doesn't move at all (backward, forward, recline, nothing works, but the passenger seat works), I'm wondering if this is because it came off a car with memory seats...

Here's the difference:
2017 IS 200T Base Model driver seat (heated)
2020 IS350 F Sport driver seat (with memory function, heated and vented)

No sir, I didn’t. But what I CAN tell you is that the donor seats (heated/ventilated) were plug n play with my base model car’s harness. No additional plugs/wires/harness were needed (minus the pigtail under the center console for the heat/ventilation control switch). Both of my donor seats work perfectly except for the the bottom, rear tilt feature on the drivers side does not operate. The seat’s foam has been flattened. I suspect the previous owner was a whale and burned out the motor. No idea how many miles are on the donor seats or what other options were installed in the donor car. Hope that helps.

Thanks! I'm puzzled as to why these ones don't work at all.
I thought scoring memory seats would have been a good thing, but clearly it's not...

Let me know how that goes and if you'd like to share the contact info as well.

Funny how we're doing the same mods lol!

For sure. I found this guy (also on eBay). He’s got 14k positive reviews. His service is $90 with return shipping included.
