Post 2014 IS350 Weird sunroof issue

G'day fellas,

So currently experiencing something I've never seen before, I have a 2014 is350 f sport which has a sunroof, now, the sunroof will open and close early in the morning and late at night, however during the day it wont open! I've checked the fuse under the passenger kick panel and it seems all good, today i wanted to rip out the dome light to check the connectors but couldn't see any screws, cant find any articles online to suggest how to remove them

Any input is much appreciated

Many thanks in advance
Dave

If the roof works at two points in the day (morning and night) then all the wiring, connectors, and fuses should be fine.
If I had to guess I'd say the issue is the motor...if it overheats it just stops working.
I'd also guess that during the day the car is outside all or most of the time?
Given the age of the car it wouldn't be unreasonable for the motor to have failed especially being in a consistently hot climate.

it generally stays in the garage, though here in Australia it gets relatively hot and my garage isn't Ac'ed, I'm thinking the same think that its a motor as when i press the switch, there's a click sound

All fixed it was the motor afterall
total cost was $200 and about half hour job to replace
don't listen to lexus techs that tell u to remove headliner, its easy access from the dome light assembly
