Unfortunately it doesn't sound like there is a quick and easy fix for this as it looks like there is a trouble code in the VSC system.
Has anything happened to the vehicle lately? Or any work been performed? i.e. that involved removing the steering wheel
Your could try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes, and that might clear the code...however since you mentioned the lack of acceleration I'm pretty sure the code will reset once you start the car again.

Well you have your answer then.
Either the steering angle sensor was not installed correctly or damaged, or it wasn't calibrated properly.
You need to have it rechecked.
The steering angle sensor sits behind the steering wheel, hence the question in my first post.
