Default 2021-2022 IS Illuminated F-Sport Door Sills

So everywhere online I only see the regular "Lexus" light-up sills so I thought I would share. The part number is: PT942-53210-20. Saved myself 300 dollars and I think they look amazing. Makes opening my door/entering/exiting SO much more of an occasion! Credit goes to @TipsyTonio for providing pics for inspiration.
Install was simple but I took about 90 minutes since I was just taking my time. I'll upload the instructions here but also provide some picture guidance. Passenger side is basically the same, with the knee panel being attached with clips instead of screws.

Front driver side final

Rear driver side final. I actually didn't know this came with the set. Needs a paper cut-out to line it up (even then, it's still not very accurate) and then gotta use supplied adhesive strips to attach to the car.

Use some painter's tape and a plastic pry tool to remove stock sills.

Pop off the sill trim (2 main clips) and the kick panel trim without taking off the weather stripping.

Disengage clip with needle nose plier to allow for more room for wiring.

More room!

Remove two screws and pop off the dash trim panel.

Install the light up sills after routing the harness. Follow the PDF for further instructions on where to lift the weather striping and to use a bridge clip (supplied). The tapping and further instructions are in the PDF, I forgot to take pictures.. oops

This is what I used to engage the supplied taps into the wires.

Zip tie everything up.

Tada!

Bonus pic. It is sure very bright!

It looks great man! Thanks for posting the official instructions as well. The cable portion is honestly more complicated than what I had imagined it would be. Electrical components have always been a fear of mine so I’m personally glad that I did it at the port, but it’s good for people to have the option. And I have to agree with you; based off the instructions they provided, the template for the rear kick plate looks super useless and overly complicated. Thanks for the great write up!

Now that’s a write up I would love to see. I considered it on my car but I couldn’t justify $450 when I barely open my trunk, and when I do, I’m usually throwing something in there and calling it a day lol

What’s the point of the 2 rear pieces? Doesn’t the car already come with scuff plates that look exactly like those?

never mind lol, I just checked and there’s nothing there. That’s worth it then!!

Looks awesome. DIY feels like you cheated the system haha. Are you planning to do the illuminating rear trunk light?

And this is the part number if you need it
PT9445321002

Now I'm really tempted to do this install. I reviewed the install @BChoCRNA provided and if the IS is like that, its a piece of cake. I also didn't know that the illuminated trunk sill also had two spot lights on each side, which will really brighten up the trunk. The cheapest I've found is $268 for the part. However, when I searched I also found a hardware kit. I'm not sure if we need that hardware kit or if buying the part will include the hardware kit? If someone manages to obtain the instructions please do not hesitate to share!

I just picked up my IS 500 on Tuesday and had specifically asked about sill plates but were advised they were not yet available for the IS 500.

These F Sport illuminated sills are from 2021+ MSRP = $335

Haven’t heard of any being made for IS 500 specifically..

Illuminated Door Sills - Black + LEXUS = PT942-53210-02

Illuminated Door Sills - Black + FSPORT = PT942-53210-20 @TipsyTonio

Interesting. I was very interested in getting them and they acted like that wasn’t an option. Whoever heard of a dealer that didn’t like add ons?
