Steering Shaft Replacement
I have a 2017 IS 200T and need to replace the lower steering shaft. I found a used 2016 one for only $70 and was wondering if these are compatible so I dont have to pay $300 lol.
Anyone know? Heres a picture of the 2016 one for sale.

Looks like 08/2015+ is compatible (this means 2016+ model year) but do you really want to go used here?

Thank you. Unfortunately I don't have many other options. My money is tight right now and I have to do multiple repairs out of pocket due to an accident and insurance is taking too long. I gotta get to work sooner than later lol.
Is a used one that bad of an idea?

Could have the same problem as the one you are removing.

I've never had a problem with my steering shaft, nor have I ever seen anyone else complain about it-- get the used one if you're on a budget and just be mindful if it breaks again, it shouldn't though. Not sure why people are against buying used parts, especially something like this. You'll be fine.
If you want the best option, go on car-part.com (this website finds totaled cars with the part) at a significantly reduced price. Find one with the lowest miles and grab it. They're all usually the same price OR go on eBay, a lot of salvage yards have eBay accounts and sell the parts there too, like I mentioned before, your best bet is to pull it from a car with the least amount of miles. Good luck!
