2014 IS Radio Receiver dead - Or is it
Hello
After months of research and having the help of a few members, I decided to finally make a post about the symptoms to which I am experiencing, which are sort of similar to others, but also different.
The symptoms which I was experiencing began back in October. Simultaneously, as the time progressed, I noticed my battery was slowly starting to go as well. I thought nothing of it as I was driving the car a lot less. Back to my radio, it would go through phases of not working. Some days it would, some days it would not. I found that, whenever I left the car in my garage, it would work no problem the next day (Most of the time). The moment I left my car outside, mind you this is Ontario, so its really cold, I would come back to a radio not turning on. I also found some days, if I drove the car long enough, the radio would eventually load randomly and work perfectly fine.
It eventually came to the point where my battery completely died and would not hold charge. And I feel this may have also had something to do with damaging the radio based on forums research. I replaced the battery, but still face the same issues. The radio has only turned on once since replacing the battery, which lasted only 1 day of driving the car.
So now, with this in mind, could my issue be something to do with the cold? And possibly a connector or something on the board of the radio that can be fixed? Very curious to know if anyone else has attempted a repair on these things. I removed the radio, and unplugged and replugged every single connector for the heck of it, but of course nothing.
My symptoms of a bad radio include:
- Black screen - Nothing shows on the screen
- Reverse camera still works
- Music section does not show on the cluster
- CD can still insert/eject
- usb inputs to charge phone for example, not working
- Some occasions, I do see the screen quickly flicker when putting the car into accessory mode
- I tried the battery reset method, waiting 30 minutes+, pressing audio button in accessory. No luck
- When the car is on, you can here a faint clicking/hissing sound when you put your ear up to the radio when its not working
I am hoping others can share their experiences and the route which they took without warranty. I spoke to the dealer, and corporate and there isn't much they can do for me at this point but have it replaced, which is a hefty amount. I am at the point where I will either send it to a radio repair shop and see what they can find, or simply just buy a used one and pray it works perfectly fine. I have a 2014 is350 with faceplate p10435 for reference. P.S. shoutout Sasnuke for all the help previously to this.

Same issue
Hey so I have a 2014 Lexus is350 f sport with mark levinson sound system and I have the same issue screen sometimes turns on and other times just keeps rebooting even when it turns on it randomly just shuts off while playing music and starts rebooting, I also had replaced my mark levinson amp which was faulty with water damage so I replaced it with a pioneer cause it was cheaper and my sound works good when the radio turns on but I’m in the process of getting a new radio and seeing if it’ll work
