Default Why on earth is a 2022 IS300 the same price as a 2022 IS350

I was checking out Longo Lexus's Reserve Now page and came across the 2022 IS300s and IS350s. Just FYI, Longo does not do dealer add-ons or markups, so what you see here is what you get. Can someone please tell me why on earth a mother****** IS300 is the same price as a IS350???

That could be a fully-loaded IS 300 with Mark Levinson and the new-for-2022 Premium Package which includes 19-inch wheels, real wood trim, etc. Most of those IS 350s you are seeing are also fairly basic models. If you have Mark Levinson and navigation on an IS 350, it would already be $48k+. For instance, mine has nav, Mark Levinson, a moonroof, $550 paint, but little other options and had an MSRP of about $49k. So, I am guessing those 350 cars are non-ML cars with some options.

So a fully optioned IS350 is ~49k (with everything but DHP) but a fully optioned IS300 is ~47k? If these are AWD IS300s, I guess it would make sense since the AWD IS300 uses the same 3.5L V6 except de-tuned. $2000 for an extra 50hp seems about right. But if it's the RWD IS300s with the turbo....what a rip off lol.

Well, seeing as how it's Longo Lexus, they'd be much more likely to stock the IS 300 RWD, based on the climate, right? I don't know the costs of the Premium and Comfort packages offhand but maybe they're a bit pricey. (I am trying to build one but the website seems a bit janky today and won't load).

I agree with you, at that point you may as well get the IS 350. It's a small up-charge but a big upgrade.

DHP cars are typically closer to $54k or $55k. There was an Ultra White one with every box checked when I was shopping for mine that was $54k. I was originally going to go for that car, but I liked the Iridium/Circuit Red color combo better. They only had one car with a red interior so I decided to just jump on it lol.

Assuming you get every factory option, minus DHP and assuming you don't get a premium paint color, a 350 is actually around 51.5k. DHP adds another $4200 to that on the RWD models.

Also, giant LOL on the third from the bottom car on the spreadsheet. Must be a 1 of 1 car with that Birch interior. And they butchered the spelling on Caviar

Side note - I think this is the first time I've seen that silver named as "Sonic Iridium" instead of just "Iridium". Dealers have weird stuff like that though. They told me this car had a "Flare Red" interior as well, which is another name I have not seen since then.

edit: And yikes, why have every IS 350 in one of two colors. I mean, I get those are likely to be popular colors, but come on. Even my dealer back when I was shopping had 2 Caviar IS 350s, 1 Ultra White, and 1 Iridium...

The sonic iridium I believe is the official name for iridium everywhere in the world except for in North America. Almost all the colors have a different, more boring name, in other parts of the world. It’s a weird Lexus quirk

Yep that's Longo for you when it comes to colors. I notice Longo tends to be very conservative with their color orders. Back when I got my 2016 CT200H F Sport from longo brand new, it was the only USB mica they had in stock for a while they said. For months all they had was silver, black, grays, whites, typical longo colors. they really hate colors i've noticed lol.

I got two new cars from Longo and two new cars from Newport.

i won't consider other lexus dealers in socal. they're bad... i tried them. really bad.

Inventory manager will have allocation to order 2 of a particular model. They'll order the dealership's most popular colors - atomic and white, for example. Then a week or 2 later they'll get allocated 2 more slots for that same model. So they order 2 more of their most popular colors, thinking the first pair of vehicles might be sold before the second pair arrives - common thinking in today's market. But it doesn't always work out that way. Next thing you know, all 4 vehicles get shipped at the same time and now the dealer has 2 of each color sitting on the lot.

Yikes. A 2022 IS350 for $59390 MSRP. I recall these were about $55-56k in 2021 before the performance exhaust and CF mirror caps were added. I would definitely get an IS500 over this bloated package.

Is that an AWD car? If not, ouch. I understand the new carbon fiber mirror caps and the exhaust are accessories, but still, this seems like a hard sell for an IS 350. You're well into base-IS-500 territory, which I think some people would prefer over a loaded 350.

Also, stupid dealer glasscoat sealant adds $2k, seems like that could easily be avoided. I guess we can't blame big Lexus for a dealership's silly add-ons.

I'm not sure. The shown base price of $43.2k is unlike anything on the Lexus website. RWD is 44275 and AWD is 46275. Maybe its 1-WD lol.
