Any way to get less stiff steering feel on sport+?
Hi!
After some times, I prefer the steering stiffness of the sport mode. I find the steering stiffness on sport+ too much. Any way to get sport+ mode but with the normal sport steering stiffness
thx

That is a great question. I know that in some countries, a "custom" drive mode is available on the drive mode selector if you just press the drive mode selector **** twice. You'll see the word "CUSTOMIZE" on the **** if you have it. With that feature, you could customize the different driving attributes, like suspension, throttle, and steering. If you don't have that, I'm not sure it's possible.

No it's not possible

In custom mode option, you only have powertrain, chassis and climate. I cant do it with that
The only way I see, its to put the car in sport+ mode and disconnect all the electronic damper adjustment(or remove the fuse?). Like that, Ill always stay in Sport+ mode for the suspension, whatever the mode I put

Another thing is that I thought the steering would be the same between Sport S and Sport S+. Lexus doesn't say anything in the manual about changing the steering between S and S+.

Options I have is:
Powertrain: power, normal
Chassis: sport, normal
Climate: sport, normal, eco
I can, without hesitation, telling it have a difference between sport and sport+ steering stiffness. And I feel a good difference in handling with sport+(suspension is more stiff)
Ill probably just get used to the sport+ steering. Just it need more effort to do a quick maneuver so you are not as fast as with a softer steering

Isn't the only difference between Sport and Sport + is tighter suspension? If I'm correct, just put your car in Sport rather than Sport +.

I know the front will be easy to unplug, I dont know for the rear

What I know is between Sport and Sport+, steering and suspension are stiffer. I dont know if gear ratio and throttle response change. I want the handling of the sport+ with the sport steering and it seem to not be possible without disabling AVS on the sport+ setting

Edit: Unless you're thinking of unplugging it while it's in its firm setting? Not sure if that's been done before.

All modes on the IS change the throttle response and will only change the gear ratio if you have VGRS. Also, the people who put their IS' on coilovers have to unplug the AVS anyway. From what I've heard it doesn't cause any codes or lights. There probably isn't much harm in trying it unplugged anyway.

I find the fuse for the AVS, I think simply removing the fuse after setting the Sport+ mode will work for always stay on the stiffest setting, but...
If I understand AVS correctly, on Eco, Normal and Sport mode, in straight line, the damping will not be at the max but it will increase while you cornering. But in Sport+ mode, whatever if you are straight or in a curve, damping is always at the max? That no difference between straight and curve situation? That right?

So, I finally removed AVS fuse after having put the Sport+ mode, now I always have the stiffest setting whatever the mode I put. I can now use normal sport mode for steering with the sport+ suspension stiffness
