Default New Wheels New TPMS?

hey guys,

just wanted to ask when buying new set of wheels, does everyone just remove the tpms from the stock wheels to the new ones? or do you buy a new set?

if you do buy a new set can the tyre shop install and set them to the dash? or do you have to take it to lexus dealership to get them done?

whats the most popular way most everyone does

cheers

How old are the stock wheel TPMS units? Battery life is around 7 years, give or take. So if they are getting old, just get new ones. I take it that you are not keeping the stock wheels to reuse for alternate seasons?
The tire shop, if they are selling you the TPMS units, should be able to load the values into your car, or they’re in the wrong business.
I bought the toys to do it myself, as I swap between summer/winter tires&wheels seasonally.

I keep them on my stock wheels and buy a set of new oem TPMS and install them on the aftermarket wheels then get it programed to the car.
a set of 4 runs for $60 on ebay, then your local americans tire do can program them to the car for free.
I ended up buying a Autel MaxiTPMS TS501 tool and programed them myself.
