What should be our biggest concern is manufacturers purposely keeping inventory low, as the new way of doing business. They have loved these higher profits and lack of incentives. Why would they go back to the old way? They can control inventory levels and keep selling things at msrp or above. I totally believe at this point there is no longer a chip shortage, but car companies will use that as an excuse. But getting a bit off topic here.
Manipulation of the car sales market like that is certainly a disturbing prospect. But it will never happen because it presumes the car companies will act in lock step and all lessen their production(supply) to maintain or inflate price. That's actually the establishment of a de facto cartel, much like OPEC. But one or several of the less established manufacturers, still hungry to increase market share, will "cheat" in order to increase their sales and profit and the effort will ultimately generally fail---I HOPE!

There is a definite issue with the ML system, none of the 2023 that dealers are getting have ML. There are a few IS500 that of course have it.

It's because you have a "Special Appearance Package." But according to the press release and the product specs on the Lexus Website, all of the true IS350 F Sports should have black window trim regardless of whether they have the SA package or not. However they are all arriving with chrome trim.

You have the special appearance package, no? I wonder if the more common IS 350 F Sport models will have it. (Seems like a "no" so far.)

First F Sport Design with the notorious Caramel Interior: 2023 Lexus IS 350 F Sport Design RWD - $45,575 - CarGurus
I will say, the color combo does not look bad in the slightest, but the interior equipment is awful.

I agree. While this interior is classy and functional, Lexus shouldn't be crippling features at this point given how the "better" version is a generation behind competitors. This is now 2 generations behind.

I mean... my wife's 330i has analog instrument dials as well, but it's fine because there's a relatively-large info screen with decent resolution between them. Also, BMW's digital gauges are not my favorite anyway.

It's all about the execution if you ask me. And Lexus has been using these same gauges in the IS since 2014 with no noticeable updates. At least the F Sport gauges got a facelift to more closely resemble the gauges in the LC 500.
