Default Cloudburst Gray or Atomic Silver? 2023 IS

I know this is a subjective question but I'm pondering between these two colors with the Black BBS wheels. I've always had a color closer to atomic silver in my cars. I've always talked about getting a darker gray/silver car. But I always hesitate whether a color like cloudburst gray is too dull, looks dirtier or shows blemishes/rock chips/scratches worse than atomic silver. The other thing I'm wondering is which color would shine/reflect the best when detailed. Any thoughts?

I would recommend Atomic Silver based on my experience. I owned a 2015 IS350 for 8 years in that color and it always looked downright amazing (I washed it once per year lol). Now I have a 2023 IS500 in the same color. Zero regrets.

That is such a tough one. I think both colors work well. Depends on the interior color you want I think. Both can work well with red. I think black looks better with Atomic Silver than with Cloudburst.

I also had an Atomic Silver IS before and loved the look of it. Now am rocking the Iridium, which is a more neutral silver but still looks good on the F Sport, and I can appreciate that it is different from Atomic Silver.

Here's a friend's Cloudburst IS 500 with mine and DLPTony's cars...

Both colors are nice, but I notice every automaker has a version of Cloudburst. Atomic Silver seems to be a color very specific to Lexus.

I couldn’t agree with you more - this is exactly why I went with it. Atomic Silver ftw!

CLOUDBURST with red interior. Don't get Atomic Silver, I had it when I owned an RC350. Hated the color, looked bronze and gold in the sun.

I’d personally go atomic silver. With the black trim and black wheels that atomic just hits. Cloudburst is nice and you can’t go wrong with that color either.

I don't view that as a con. I loved the subtle beige tone.

I have the grey and love it when it’s clean. It’s a bit underwhelming when it’s dirty. However I have no regrets.

I have Cloudburst Grey IS350 and it looks amazing with chrome delete and black trunk emblems 👍🏻 Especially fresh after car wash, with clean dark chrome wheels 😅

althought my wife’s RX300 is Atomic Silver and in my opinion it looks amazing on suv, I like that silver/gold tone that it has, and works with chrome parts and silver wheels, thus don’t need chrome delete that car 😁

I would say - gray for Sedan, silver for SUV!

I have a 21 IS350 in Cloudburst grey on black. When clean, it looks spectacular - every elegant and gives an otherwise sporty looking car a more luxurious look. Agreed, when dirty it looks a bit dull. The grey is a deep rich colour, not like greys you see on other cars. But this styling makes the car look great in any colour. My wife absolutely loves Atomic Silver due to the uniqueness, but loves the Cloudburst as well. She said its a 50/50 toss up. Can't go wrong either way.

And that is precisely why I steered away from Cloudburst Gray lol. I feel that the darker you go, it really doesn't help the black trim on the grille and the spoiler (and whatever other features come with the 350F Sport) stand out from the rest of the car. Also, the atomic silver is absolutely stunning after a gloss PPF and multiple coats of ceramic coating.

I also have the same question. I actually love both colors, but between the Cloudburst Gray versus Atomic Silver, which one do you guys thing will show dirt and dust the least? I guess the tiebreaker for me would be whichever one is easier to keep clean and hides scratches better.

I think they're honestly really close in that regard, but I'd have to give the W to Iridium. It has a ton of metallic flake, making it almost look like a matte paint to some people (I've been asked if it was matte before, believe it or not).

Here it is after driving on a salty road. I think you can see the dust and whatnot - but also, consider that this is basically as bad as it gets.

edit: I originally said I owned both. My bad, for some reason my brain thought this was yet another Atomic Silver versus Iridium thread. I have driven a Cloudburst ES as a loaner car. I had it for several days. I really, really, love that color to be honest. However, I don't think it's quite as good at hiding dirt.
