Default Coefficient of Drag on 3IS?

I tried Googling, only saw IS convertible and the older body style. Old IS say 0.28 - 0.29 (AWD). Just curious if anyone had that information.

Just for comparison, Prius is 0.25 and 2018 M4 is 0.34.

The IS500 is 0.30 so I guess it's pretty much similar, but the different facelifts could affect it a bit.

I have a copy of the 2015MY product information document (attached). It says 0.28 for RWD and 0.29 AWD.

Based on this link, it's same with 2017 facelift, at least for AWD:

Interesting that Prius is that aerodynamic. Upon further reading, it is probably the closest car out there that tries to mimic the "teardrop" shape, the most aerodynamically efficient shape for drag minimization. Pretty neat .

Prius! Does anybody care? The things are so damn slow, why would they even both to measure it? It would probably get the same mileage if it were a square box.

The new Prius's look amazing and I think they're faster than my 250 I'd still probably never get one but I am surprised with their numbers

The new Prius is actually not hideous anymore and will do 0-60 faster than most midsize mainstream sedans these days. Like, low-7-seconds.

To be honest I've been toying with the idea of having a cheap-to-run daily so that I can have a dedicated sports car for fun stuff, so to me, a less sucky Prius is great news lol.

lol, my IS is my ‘cheap-to-run daily’, my other car is the one for ‘fun stuff’.

Haha fair enough. We've only got a two-car garage at the moment, and both of our cars are do-it-all machines. We don't have a dedicated daily or toy yet.

Anyway, this has drifted pretty far off-topic, will close this out if no one has any more questions or thoughts on drag coefficient numbers on the IS.
