Then we went for the test drive and I don't know what happened.. it didn't feel powerful. I couldn't tell if it was because the Bridgestone's were like hockey pucks in the -6c it was outside today or if I just didn't understand what mode to be in or what??? The TCS light kept flashing, so obviously a lack of traction but even when I seemingly was mid throttle, it wasn't accelerating the way I expected. Wrong gear? No traction? Damn it!! I couldn't have the car too long, so it was hard to figure out what was going on. I suggested they throw on some winters or all seasons to get a better test drive but that's not really feasible.

I'm at a loss.
I have just picked up my 23 IS500 ... it is quite interesting car and it would for sure take a while to love it; I have be able to only "like it" so far
on other hand, milage for a few first tanks are much less optimistic than for other members - it is in range 20 l/100km or so, for routine daily driving in downtown Toronto

I am also pretty sure if you driving has more open suburban and/or highways car has potential to much better fuel economy

I am not sure where it is appropriate, but want to write my feedback on first few days of driving

^^ Give it couple thousand KM's to get better. Once your break-in period is done and you discover "that extra inch", you'll change your mind!

My tank fuel economy average plummets as soon as I start dipping into the pedal lol.

I managed to get over 20 MPG on the way to and from Road Atlanta this weekend, including some tooling around the resort we were staying at at low speeds. Not bad considering it was not even full-on highway driving.
