The thing with PDR on a crease is that it will not be perfect unless you get an artist. My buddy had a dent in his crease on his TSLA, and the PDR guy who had amazing reviews couldn't get it out completely and although 85% gone, it wasn't 100% gone. He spent 6 hours on a much less worse dent than yours. Not to be a bearer of bad news, but I'm trying to manage your expectations if you do go down the PDR route on that crease.

^^ You are saying what I also think. It also depends on individuals but having such a nice and brand new vehicle, I would rather do it right and be like new rather than cutting corners and regretting it everytime i see it, especially so close to a gas cap at each fill up.

But that is just me, and even a proper repair wouldnt be that invasive and costly, in my opinion.

OP- it would be worth getting a quote for each option and then decide based on your budget and level of OCD'ness

Yeah I had a dent on the door of my 2016 IS 300 AWD that I had to live with the majority of the time I had the car. It was on the crease in the door. Thankfully, not too noticeable for most people. But the PDR was free because the shop couldn't get it all the way out.

Honestly I'd rather pay and have it done right than not pay, this time around.

My condolences man, that really blows. I was a bit peeved at a rock chip on my door, but this is way worse. I'd be livid. I hope they can get it looking good again without too much trouble.

You should've traded cars with a red one at the Performance driving school. I wonder if they would've noticed.

Those things are autocrossed like every time they are driven lol. Only a few hundred miles on them and they've probably seen more abuse than most of our cars put together. I wonder how often they change the oil on them?

Having said that, I would totally take that Molten Pearl IS 500 they had. It was sick.

Anyway, found a good body shop, just waiting to see when they can fit me in. A couple other places I called were booked until June... But I got a recommendation for a different one so going to call them tomorrow.

Man that sucks! Just coming from some damage on my car I know how you feel! You spend so much time effort and money on something and it just gets damaged… at least you got someone taking responsibility for it which helps.

I'm not holding my breath on the hotel front... when I called back to speak to the person they said would be handling it, I got a "Oh, Monday? I meant NEXT Monday, so a week from today." I was mad. That guy said, plain as day, "Monday". So I am getting the run-around.

🤦🏽‍♂️😞

I finally saw the photo. If it’s any consolation, it’s better than what was described on Sunday. I expected a dent the size of our helmets; thankfully it isn’t, but I hope it gets fixed soon!

I may have exaggerated the dent size a bit.... but hey, it left a helmet size dent in my heart when I saw it!

^^ Rumors are that you tend to exaggerate most sizes (lmao)

Arentz - Make sure you keep us updated on what the shop will charge you and what process they will use/used to repair the damage
