Make sure you look at it in the sunlight and shade and at different angles when you pick it up.

I feel like a stalker. I saw they moved the car this morning, and it appears they parked it outside based on the location on the map. Maybe I need to turn these notifications off; now I am antsy for them to call me and tell me it is ready lol.

I'm still cautiously optimistic that the paint will look good. Keyword: "cautiously".

^^ Given how long you have been without, you are well within reason to be antsy and stalking, trust me, they have no idea how lucky they don't have me as a customer!! I'd be sleeping in their parking lot and watching their every move....

I don't know why, but reading this made me realize the fuel in the car is almost a month old now. I need to burn through it fast and refuel with some fresh gas.

^^ HA HA - Well, the bright side is that it can be burned rapidly by pressing that last inch - almost like a plane needing to ditch its fuel before a potential crash landing (lol)

Man you are speaking the truth! 😂

Alex is super chill, I’d argue too chill. I would have worn their a$$es out. They hopped to it after he visited the site though!

I dropped the chill when I went in person on Friday lol. That's partly why they stepped it up, I bet. I came in saying they said the car would be ready today, so I am here to pick up the car.

I mainly was suspecting shenanigans, of which I saw none, thankfully.

They told me Wednesday last time I saw them, but I got an emailed update this morning that it needed to go to the dealer for recalibrating the blind-spot-monitoring system. Now, it's back at the body shop and needs polishing and "cleaning up" before it'll be ready.

I emailed back and said I'll see you on Friday to pick up the car.

And then on Friday they’ll tell you they’re waiting for payment. To go back on Tuesday. And then on Tuesday they’ll tell you the check bounced. And so on and so on. I hope I’m just being a negative Nancy but this body shop sucks *** and is filled with nothing but broken promises.

Yeah that's true, they also need to submit a final bill to Geico. I am tempted to reach out to Geico and tell them how ridiculous this has been and see if they can get it approved quickly. The body shop has thrown Geico under the bus multiple times already, one of which I know for sure was a lie - saying they needed to get a supplement approved before they could finish the rebuild. The problem with that story is that I spoke to my adjuster and got it IN WRITING that they approved the supplement the same day it was submitted. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to pull that stunt again.

Either way, I am going there in person on Friday, even if the car is not ready, because I want to see for myself how it is looking.

Go tomorrow and take tons of pics and go home and analyze them. I dont know if that is helpful or painful, but something to do just the same.

No, you're right. Though I can't go til Friday, I will definitely be taking photos of how it looks before we even leave the parking lot. It better be right after waiting an entire month.

I think it is interesting to think about how all of this time and hassle is for just a small dent with barely any paint damage... in retrospect, I am not sure it was worth it, even if it does look perfect.

my bet is that it is worth it. I can tell in your other posts that you have an OCD nature like me. If it’s not 99% perfect you will always have a bit of resentment towards the spot, even 1 time where you don’t think of it when you pass by it will make it worth it.
