I agree with the others, the alignment is key. I have owned 3 IS models and never had issues with uneven wear.

1. I check my air weekly. I prefer 36psi (cold) all around.

2. I get the tires re-balanced and the alignment done at least twice a year.

Your current tires maybe too far gone, but after the next set (get the Michelins!), start the replacement tire fund and slide $100 bucks a month into it. I am a spirited driver, so it’s normal for my tires to be replaced every 15 months.

what’s your opinion? Think these are too far gone on the outer edge for an alignment to do any good? Also what Michelins do you suggest for my next set? I live in north Texas, so hot summers and icy winters.

^^ I will let others give their opinion but while the outerwear is noticeable, it is not as bad as I was expecting. I mean these could last you a while still if you correct the alignment. You mention northern Texas and icy winters, to me, if you are exposed to winter weather, you have 2 options - dedicated winter tires/dedicated summer tires or a single set with All Seasons which, given how I drive and where I live, that is the best route for me and why I ordered the Pilot Sport All Season 4

Agreed, not that bad. I would also go with those tires if you want a 1 tire solution. We get similar winters here and I will probably go the same route.

well I talked to Firestone, Kwik car, and Drivers Edge and all 3 companies fail to have the equipment to do an alignment on a vehicle that has driver assist/lane departure.

guess Lexus is the only choice I have here in DFW

Sorry…didn’t see your response. I personally was expecting bald Kojack looking tires! Oh yeah you can work with these, get that alignment done. If you haven’t had the tires balanced recently, then do that as well.

If you have real seasons, then the Michelin PS4 all seasons. The summers are freaking awesome, but are bricks below 40 degrees.

So bald edges with center tread good to go. Please don’t follow this advice.

Those outer tread groves are there for a reason. I know we are only looking at pics but besides alignment I would say that under inflation may have also played a part. You will obviously probably not have a tire separate with that kind of wear but it won’t tread water or grab onto loosen services as well as a more evenly worn tire.

This is how I corrected my IS350 after having same type of tire wear at 11k. RCF/GSF front LCA bushings, rear Godspeed camber kit, new Michelin Pilot Sport 4 A/S (Best sport/all season tire I have EVER owned) and 4 wheel alignment. So far 5k miles and ZERO sign of tire wear at all.
