i believe everyone understands that, but it's what you asked. you asked if the dust shield will fit the rotor which is irrelevant because you will not be using the 500s rotors when you upgrade to isf calipers.

Huh? I believe the IS-F calipers do fit IS500 rotors. It's a pretty much plug-n-play minus the cutting or bending of the shields to allow fitment of the calipers. Just the IS-F dust shields, I am not sure about.

just use the IS500 front rotors and dust shield and bolt on the IS-F front caliper with IS-F front pads and you're good to go. 100% bolt on. should have came stock

But it appears that the dust shield needs to be cut or bent to accommodate the IS-F caliper? Thus, if I were to install the IS-F dust shield instead, it should go with the IS-F caliper without any cutting/bending, yes? It's the size of the IS500 rotor that I am not sure if the IS-F dust shield will fit.

Ah, never mind. Found out IS-F Rotors are 345mm. IS500 are 356mm. IS-F dust shield will not fit IS500 rotors. Guess cutting/bending the dust shield or removing it completely is the only option

OEM IS-F front rotors are 360mm. The thing is that you're not using IS-F front rotors. You're using stock IS500 (356mm) front rotors so the stock dust shield will be the same. The only cutting you might do is bending/cutting the tip where the top and bottom of the IS-F front brembo calipers are at.

This thread and 350phi's website has been very informative on this brake upgrade!

I just want to confirm if the IS-F brake upgrade is still the same for the 2021+ IS350 as well. Specifically, the 21+ IS350 brake lines and dust shield (with some trimming) can be reused, but the rotors/pads just need to be upgraded alongside the IS-F calipers & pins/shims.

YES the brake lines and dust shield can stay, but why not upgrade the lines to SS if you're upgrading the rest?

Thank you so much for confirming. I just want to do the upgrade for honestly just for looks of it, and I don't see any reason for SS lines unless I were to track the car.

@cp2 makes a good point though. If you're already in there SS lines might as well be swapped out. The hard part is already taken care of, SS lines wouldn't be much more work.

IMHO, stock Lexus brake lines are quality. I would leave 'em alone.

one can say that for all the oem parts on the car, but yet ppl make mods to make things better (other than just aesthetics). the SS brake lines are relatively cheap (if you do your research) when doing the BBK upgrade and would be worth change, but to each their own.

Recently got ISF rotors from Bell Lexus! Can't appreciate the forums enough. However, I apologize for returning to this thread with one more question. I remember reading from an older post somewhere on the forums explaining why the OEM GS/RC F Sport/IS500 rotors have to used instead of the ISF ones (due to the wheel hub offset to the brakes), but I was wondering if there were any alternatives to the rotors when doing this swap. The OEM rotors look great, but I'm sure there has to be greater/equivalent performing rotors without the OEM cost & hub offset issue.

Curious to hear your impressions.

Upgrading the brake master cylinder was a concern I had as well. Turns out the it's unchanged since the 2IS/ISF generation.

Default EBC Red stuff

Hey guys,

I just did this conversion.
FYI.
Be carful with the EBC Red stuff Pad (DP31591C), while it does fit in the caliper and it does stop the car properly with no noise, I noticed that the outer edge of the pad stuck out a little over the rotors (im using the stock IS500 rotors). Im going to grind mine for now but I will order some other Pads when im done here.
