IS-F Front Calipers
#76
I had this same question, and this is what I found while searching the ISF forum.
The calipers for the ISF are off the shelf Brembos and as such they can use the same pads from other cars that use this caliper.
Examples
2018- 2020 WRX STI
2014-2017 Maserati GranTurismo (4.7, 4691, V, 8)
2005+ Mercedes-Benz SLK55 AMG ,CLK55 AMG
There's more but you get the idea.
I know for a fact that the pad for the CLK needs the cutout because it has the electronic brake sensors but the ISF (and IS500) doesn't use that type of sensor, so it doesn't need it.
If you look at post #60 above you will see the cutout (right between the two arrows) in the EBC Redstuff pads that I had on, those pads listed the SLK/CLK on its "where used chart" hence the cutout. They fit (for the most part) and worked fine, but because of the over hang mentioned in the post I took them off.
The pad pictured in post #68 (Comparison pic) is the Power stop Z26 I got from rock auto, to replace the EBC for now, and it only listed the WRX and ISF. If you look at the bottom left of the ISF pad you will see the mechanical wear indicator (the little metal piece), this is what the original ISF and IS500 uses.

Neither the IS500 nor the ISF have electronic brake sensors, they both use the "squealers". So there are no wires to tuck up and there are no lights cause there was never a sensor disconnected anywhere.
The confusion you are having is that the ISF calipers are brembos and they are used on other cars which DO have electronic sensors. As such there are two different types of pad that can fit in the calipers. One style of pads have no sensor cut out, only the squealer, these are the OEM style of the ISF. The other style has the sensor cut out (does not come with the sensor) and these are mainly for the cars that do have the sensor eg AMG CLK55.
Now, both style pads fit in the same brembo caliper and because the ISF/IS500 dont have a sensor, both can be used (The Pad with the sensor cut out wont have the squealer so you would have to monitor the pad thickness visually).
For the AMG CLK55 (or others with the sensor) ONLY the pad with the cut out should be used because they would need to install a sensor.
Hope I cleared it up for you

Hello!
I am getting a new IS500 in about a months time and have been looking at the common upgrades/fixes for the car.
I saw this question asked, but didn’t see an answer.
can anyone confirm that the front ISF brake upgrade clears the stock Enkei wheels?
Thanks very much.

So would these rotors fit since they're for a 2013 GS 350 F Sport? They're 356mm x 30mm thick. More expensive than OEM but they have a replaceable ring.

Hey guys,
I just did this conversion.
FYI.
Be carful with the EBC Red stuff Pad (DP31591C), while it does fit in the caliper and it does stop the car properly with no noise, I noticed that the outer edge of the pad stuck out a little over the rotors (im using the stock IS500 rotors). Im going to grind mine for now but I will order some other Pads when im done here.

How far below does the original pads or Z26's sit below the rotor? I looked at some ISF pad changes, and they seem to have a bigger rust ring even though the rotor is 360mm. So I'm assuming the ISF calipers with pads, and the stock 2 piece rotor 356mm. Will have the same size lip left once the rotors start to wear. As the original setups found on the 2013+ GS350 Fsport RWD.
Last I'm curious if the ISF calipers weigh less than the IS500 calipers.

I didn't look into the differences with ISF/GSF - but figured I'd share the difference of IS500 stock pads vs GSF pads. I converted to GSF Calipers/Rotors/Pads.

Yes, IS F calipers work with all factory wheels and the spare too.

The Z26's go right to the outer edge of the rotors.
On the inner edge is where the ISF calipers/ pads don't go to the full extent of where the stock pads did.
(These are the EBC Reds in the pic but the Z26's are the same)

The ISF calipers felt lighter when I had both in my hands, but I didn't weight them.
