I did my first oil change today at 1,200 miles with Mobile 1 5w-30 and Lexus OEM oil filter. It was super easy... the drain plug is right there center aft of the engine, the oil filter housing is right there under the access panel in the center front and my Rhino ramps worked perfectly. As I tucked them in up again the front tires, the left side was right up against the bottom bumper and the right side was about 1/8 inch off the top and had no problems going up or down the ramps. Everything was easy to take off, sometimes drain plugs, oil filters or other hardware is super tight from the factory but not the case with the IS.

Ao Mobil 1 is the consensus ? I’ve read the oil thread and got more confused. I’ve been using Pennzoil Ultra platinum on my stuff .

want to see how my ramps clear. I’ve had them 25 years .

Yeah oil brand is a personal choice, I've used Mobile 1 on all my cars with excellent results. My Jeep is going on 140K miles, still doesn't burn oil or leak .

I've just bought some Pennzoil Platinum and will be using it for my next oil change. Mobil is good as well, from what I've heard. As long as the oil you choose has the proper certifications, it should be fine.

One thing I'll add is reading that stupid dipstick is nearly impossible with clean oil ! One trick I learned is once you pull out the dip stick, press it against a clean paper towel and as you lift it you can see where the oil level imprints on the paper.

Winter mode engaged. I got this wheels for an OEM like feel, and they were cheap. Kinda wished I got a second set of silver or dark Enkeis but these will do the trick! They’re Braelin BR10

car is filthy, and probably going to be for the next 6mo, **** winter!

Almost there. Looking back, my break-in period feels so short in the total car ownership.

I have the same one and carry it on my motorcycle in the event of a flat tire. It works great and charges in no time.

It is not a bad idea. There will likely be some metal shavings in the engine when you get your first change done. You probably don't want those hanging around too long.

You guys are bougie. I use a cheap Slime inflator that reads about 6 PSI too high. (41 in the gauge gets me 35 in the car's display.) It works, though.

I use this as I can plug it into the wall or run it of the 12v port. Seems to be off no more than 1psi from my hand held tire pressure gauge. I always use the gauge to check whatever the pump says. I typically go 1/2 psi over just to leave a little room to adjust/errors.
