What have you done to your IS500 today?
#1096
Couple months ago wife surprisingly said she wouldn’t mind if our IS500 was even louder, so placed an order, waited, and yesterday the Invidia Q300 axle back arrived (part number HS14LRCDR4OS with chrome tips).
Installed it today behind the already installed Apexi Resonated Midpipe. Honestly quite loud with windows down but still quiet with windows up. Didn’t notice a drone ~2000rpm.
Reused stock rubber hanger bushings rather than some slightly longer & stiffer bushings I had bought just in case.

Painted my cans flat back, definitely the way to go imo. Too much bling going on back there otherwise.
I'm surprised the axleback sits that low. The rc350 must have slightly different fitment than the RCF catback systems. Everyone else who did the full catback had very very little clearance and I test fit it even before we attached the midpipe.

I was going to make a joke about how the reflections in the establishing shot almost made it look like there was a dog with a ball in his mouth sitting between the mufflers. But clearly, he's a very good boy and deserves better than to just play the lead part in a passing joke - so, instead, I'd like to nominate George for the position of mascot of this thread.
And might’ve misunderstood comment about Invidia axle back hanging low. Mine is designed for the IS350 originally so yes probably slightly different mounting points compared to RC-F version. The supplied Invidia gaskets also appeared to be maybe 1/8” or 1/4” too narrow in diameter than IS500 OEM gaskets.

Installed a FitCamX. Took about 10 minutes. I did not get the optional parking monitor or rear view camera. Mostly because I did not feel like running extra cables and because I think the rear camera would get in the way of the rear shade when it is fully raised. It does its job without any frills like GPS tracking or video overlays. Not too thrilled with maximum 5 minute loop. I would rather it be continuous for the duration the vehicle is running, but for an inexpensive camera that looks like it could be OEM I have no real complaints.

Spent the weekend cleaning out, reorganizing and installing some overhead storage. Foe the first time since we built this house 8 years ago I've parked a car in the third bay garage. Feels good to be able to offer some protection to the IS500.

Got the window trim blacked out, amber DRL overlays (more yellow in the day), and got the rear emblems blacked out. Just waiting for a black emblem for the front and the Rowen spoiler and I officially will not spend another dime outside of gas, car payments and insurance.
