Today I got my car to the dealership for the first service and oil change, I told the master tech that there's a flaw with the car, and he said he looked at Bulletin (TSB) and was saying he does not know what is all happening in the TSB, and he did not apply it yet. I did tell him that people who got it done are getting the issue back and its breaking the bumper tabs on top instead of addressing the issue and. He was saying Lexus RX older model had such an issue, Lexus did not fix it at that time and eventually people moved on. But in our case the TSB is a massive failure. He was mentioning not all these IS 500s exhibit that, and the fact is, its a rare car so not sure what's going to happen,

Toyota Motor corp being so busy with all their new refreshed lineup of 2.4 Turbos and existing large scale issues on Highlander, Tacoma and other Lexus cars. And since IS is nearing it's end along with RC, maybe one last year left so they may totally avoid fixing it and we will be SOL. Another fact is IS 350 also exhibits this, basically entire 3IS lineup. But they did not get jack and no acknowledgement of the issue at hand. Once the NA engines are dead with Lexus lineup, I think it's best to say goodbye to Toyota / Lexus motor corp for good.

I understand this is frustrating, as I am frustrated as well. But as far as things to go wrong with a car, a saggy bumper is a very interesting line to draw when writing off an entire auto manufacturer. To make Mac happy, to all those boycotting Lexus over this, please PPF and ceramic your car before selling.

Default Splitter rod DIY to fix the sag?

Some time ago I saw that there may be a DIY method to help fix the sag, involving installing a splitter rod behind the front wheel well covers, vertically suspending or pushing the bumper and tightening up the gap. I can’t find that post now - has anyone tried this, or at least know what I’m talking about? Afraid I may not be describing the method very well.

Coincidentally I have a 20 year old s2000 with a similar issue and they have an aftermarket similar fix https://www.reddit.com/r/S2000/s/CoKmdMUfVO

I think everyone needs to come to the realization that the community is going to have to fix this issue themselves. Personally, the less a dealership touches my car, the better. Especially when the fix is as janky as it is.

Well, so far so good. The blocks have held the bumper up in place excellently. I might go find some polymer speed bumps and test what happens when the dumper drags. @120, no issues with it sagging.

when the TSB was applied, but before these blocks, I brought the car to no fly zone 1/2 mile event, hit speeds of 145 and the bumper was sagging again afterwords.

^^ Thanks for the update Pittsy - It sure seems very promising, and I am really hoping that this will be the answer we have all be hoping for, a simple and non intrusive fix on something that should have never happened in the first place. I mean when you think about it, who needs to worry about body panels not staying in place in 2024!

Hey Pittsy 0 I am sure y ou were able to have some fun this weekend, I assume your bumper is still in place? I know the Lexus Service Bulletin didn't last more than a few days so how is this holding so far?
