They're downright dangerous. I'm at 4200 miles, tread is already quite bad , and my rear end dances/shimmies as you say easily with even moderate throttle and 10 deg. C (50F) outside. They'll stick a bit better as we head into the summer, but yeah, these are not the grippiest tires out there.

Yeah I'm not sure why Lexus continues to hamstring the IS with crappy tires. Even on the pre-refresh 3IS, the OE tires were terrible - arguably even worse than ours.

On the other hand, I am loving the Continental ECS02 tires. I have put about 2,000 miles on them and have been largely very happy with how they drive.

I have some michelin all season pilot sport that i will install this fall, i just want to get one more summer with the bridgestone before ditching them. I am not an aggressive driver but my big gripe is that summer tires limit the shoulder seasons for me...i already have a short driving window, i cant let temps close to 7c limit it even further.

Exactly why I'm also looking at performance all-seasons. I hate having to run my winters cause it's -5 in the morning when I drive to work, but +15 in the afternoon.

Not only that, but the endless typhoon of water that comes out of the trunk lid after you "completely dry" it. I use a leafblower to chase off the extra water, then I open the trunk and do it all over again And once you drive, you will dislodge water that pools above the trunk and it too drains down.

And the one drip that goes right down the front doors near the handle. Those little fudgers hang on until I completely finish with the ceramic booster then slowly drip down, giving me the middle finger the whole way. No matter how much I use my leaf blower, this car likes to hold on to every last drop of water.

Some smaller tires shops will give you a decent trade in if your current tires are in good shape.
