Default Does anyone have issues with their fuel tank neck?

I probably am using incorrect terminology here, but I’ve noticed this issue that only seems to be getting worse. When you open the door to the fuel tank you’ll notice a plastic “receptacle” that the pump nozzle sits in. Mine seems to be loose to the point that it wiggles around a bit.

In and of itself this is not an issue, but I’ve noticed that the automatic pumps with the little notches under the trigger don’t seem to play nice when filling up. I’m not sure if this issue is related to the loose “neck” that feeds down into the tank, or something with whatever “sensor” is built into the receptacle that the nozzle rests in.

Basically, I have to manually hold down the nozzle trigger in order to keep pumping and prevent the lockout as if the tank was full. This issue has been replicated at different pumps across multiple gas stations.

I’m still under warranty and will get it looked at in a few thousand miles during the next service interval, but just curious if anyone else has had a similar issue.

Typically the automatic fill feature on gas pumps fail and click back into the off position when there isn’t a strong seal between the rubber on the gas pump and your gas tank. I have no idea what the plastic neck on your tank has to do with it, but press the gas pump firmly in place to create that seal, then pump, then flip the automatic fill switch on.

The same thing happened to my Camry but after like 120k miles. I'd have it checked out under warranty since yours is a new car. For my Camry, I didn't get it fixed, I just have to jam it in pretty hard before I press down for it to stick in place.
