That would be something. It sure does look great on the LC500 with caramel interior.

Atleast in the RC they’ve fit the RCF exhaust on the RC350 and at least in the video it doesn’t sound bad or drones or anything like that. There’s a couple YouTube videos out there
But is it worth that kind of money for just decent sound?

Me personally it’s not even about the sound. I just love the quad tip look.

Just the tip still counts 😉

I do think our IS 500s are slightly louder than 350 models. Though, I don't know how much of that is intrinsic to having more cylinders.

Oh they’re definitely louder. There’s no denying that. But I’d also be oblivious if I thought that swapping the exhaust from a 500 onto my car would naturally make it louder lol. I’m just going for what I call an “OEM +” look. Customizing my car with only OEM parts as much as I can.

When does Lexus typically start to build the next year's model? If they custom built mine around Aug - Sep and labelled it as a 2023 MY, I wonder what production month would they consider the car to be a 2024 MY.

Or I could also be wrong and they already have the vehicle in Japan ready for shipment when my order was placed.

Lexus/Toyota don’t do custom orders other than a few allocations for the LC500. So, your dealer got lucky with an exact match for what you wanted when they did regional allocations.

They’re probably already manufacturing 24s if the announcement is in October. But that’s speculation.

Default 2024 model changes

With 2024 being the potential last model year for the is500, is there any chance Lexus makes a full on isf? I may be buying a 2023 soon but am curious if any big changes are in store for 2024.

Employee custom orders are out for 2024 MY. Starting production around October seems realistic to me, expect an announcement of some sort this month I'm guessing, I don't have any more information outside of that though!

Sadly, no chance of an IS F. Lexus didn’t even do an LC F halo car. Akio Toyoda used all his power to do the GR cars it seems. Plus, Lexus North America basically designed and engineered the IS 500 without permission and then asked Japan to make it. No way they spend the $$$ to engineer an IS F at this point.

That’s what I was thinking as well. But, I believe the prototype press cars had a trans cooler. At that point all you need to add is an oil cooler and you’re mostly to an isf. Interested to see if they have any special colors or anything else.
