I honestly would not be surprised if Lexus decides to continue on with this formula. The model is basically all profit for them and I think it’s been quite successful.

Simply because in the U.S. we love to have options.
EVs right now are for the privilege who have time on their hands.
To everyone else, time is money.

Intermediate
Ev makers put the carriage before the horse, our charging infrastructure just isn't there and won't be for a long time. I predict hybrids will continue to grow and bridge the gap between ICE and full EVs for many years to come.

Ford has stopped manufacturing the lightning, Mercedes’ EQ line isn’t selling… Toyota knows what they’re doing, I’ll trust their pulse on the market over anyone else.

ICE Not going anywhere for a very long time. Other carmarkers are trialing synthetic biofuels to keep ICE's going. I think Hybrids will gain more and more of the market as they are a sensible intermediate solution to help with the gradual transition (removes range anxiety, get instant torque, great fuel economy, affordable to the masses, etc.). I wouldn't mind if the next generation of IS is a hybrid.
Or, if Toyota can actually get a H2 burning ICE to work , I'd go for that as well. They've been doing alot of R&D there too.

Affordability is another. Until they build an electric below 20k (WITH infrastructure already in place) it's not going to dominate. The majority of car sales are used cars, mainly because of price. Most people want something affordable that doesn't break the bank....and EV is no where near being able to meet that demand. Probably a good 10 years out.

I mean Toyota has been racing hybrids for a nearly decade heh. They have the technology and experience for performance hybrids.
here is the 1000hp TS050:
Toyota also holds the fastest lap around LeMan:

I like the amount of metallic flake and depth of color in Ultrasonic Blue Mica 2.0, Infrared, and Molten Pearl. I think that's the kind of color I was hoping for on another special appearance IS 500.
