He's making the "I'd buy the car used in a heartbeat" folks on car forums put their money where their mouth is. I'd wish I knew so many of these would be lightly used for a discount so I could have saved some cash. There's a 2023 USB Premium with Wheel Package going for $60k and they barely hit the break in mileage!

But really, unless they were insurance or lemon related, that's a ton of cash to be lighting on fire.

Nobody ever resold this car for a profit, AFAIK. Maybe in the very early days with a 2022 model, but certainly not in the last year. He claims the resale value is good which is true, but I imagine he's still losing money on the taxes. Aside from that its just a massive waste of time and paperwork to trade out for the same car every 6 months. I mean who does that??

What do you care what he does with his money or cars? Soiling nice brand new IS500's? Banned from Lexus? Who's the fool.

Apparently, he does.

I only had my Mk7 GTI for 9 months and my GLI for about 7 months. It happens.

It does happen. Had my Scat Pack for only 3 months before my IS500 because timing just didn't work out for me. I only lost out on a portion of the sales tax, so wasn't a big deal. But three of the same car definitely is "unique" lol

Yeah. In a span of three years I went from a Z to a Mini to a Z to a Mini. And when I bought my 11' IS 250 I hated it so much I took it back within 2 months and bought back the Mini I traded in for the same price they gave me for it. I lost about $1,500 on the IS 250 but hey, I drove it for two months. The IS 250 was too sleepy compared to my Mini S back then.

I've never leased. Even my wife's bimmer - bought it used (1 year old), low mileage, was a good deal, cash deal. Done.

I think M3 is on another level in terms of performance, with the manual transmission, great suspension, powerplant, etc.. And I'm sure BMW is sandbagging the numbers. LOL. no way these are "just making 500 hp".

Now, if I had to pick between M340 and IS500 - the 500 all the way.

More like Chatgpt - where do I locate my BMW blinker 😁 then the entire AI bot freezes after such a strenuous search.

It was quite a frustrating experience. Think I’m staying with Japanese (most likely Lexus, or at least Toyota) for good at this point.
I agree about the frustration with German cars. I owned a 2012 BMW 740Li (with the N54 inline six, twin-turbo) from new until I traded it in on my IS500 earlier this year. Overall, the experience was positive, but the German cars are not designed for long-term ownership. At about 100K miles in 2022 all kinds of expensive components and systems started failing, adaptive suspension, water pump, fuel injection system, etc. Also, the maintenance along the way was no Swiss picnic either. When I had the wheel alignment corrected at 50K miles I learned that there is no way to adjust certain alignment parameters (I forget which). Instead, the corrective action is to purchase and swap in a new BMW OEM aluminum wishbone in a slightly different configuration/size to affect the alignment geometry (there are three slightly different sizes/configurations for that wishbone). That part was $700. I saved the old wishbone just in case the alignment needed to be adjusted again, then maybe they could use the original size one. That said, the handling on that car was awesome; I've never driven a big sedan that handled so well, and it was actually a lot of fun to hustle it.

The biggest problem was the direct injection and carbon deposits. BMW knows this is a big problem starting at around 50K miles, yet they do nothing to address it.

As for leasing, I don't like it. I leased an S2000 in 2005, and it never felt like my car, until I bought it at lease-end in 2008. I don't think I'll ever lease again, and I know I'll never buy German again. Unless the economy just totally craters and I can find a new GT3 at sticker; I'd buy that.

BMW = Blinker Means What?
I'm not sure the blinkers work on the new "Zupra" with all that BMW DNA.
