do you put a trickle charge on the car while it sits?
Yes I do - I have the CTEK battery charger but will not leave plugged in the entire winter. I tend to put it on at least once a month until the light turns green....
I have been enjoying my car for a year now and I love it even more. I guess you could say I am "experiencing amazing." I have 12,800 on the odometer since purchasing on Dec. 9, 2022, Was hoping to have less miles, but I just love driving this thing. It is fun fun fun!

The car is meant to be driven! Keep On, Keep’n On. 😎
I just turn over 4100 miles after a September 1, 2023 purchase and 1 round trip from Chicago area down to the Fort Walton Beach FL. I only have an 8 mile commute but feel like new driver asking to run errands all the time.
I'll hit one month next week and currently at 343 miles. Trying to decide if I should get my one month/1,000 check up/oil change already or wait until my break in mileage is hit at least.

::heehee:: Once I burned through all my neighbors getting sugar and flour for them, I just made up excuses to drive. 😜

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe actual time/distance driven is more important than time passed when talking about such a short period. I can't say this with any authority, but I'd wait until you reach at least the 621-mile break-in point before getting that oil change. FWIW, I did my first at around 1K miles,, but chose to wait until the 5K-mile/6-month mark before switching to synthetic as it's my understanding that synthetic can interfere with proper break-in/seating by reducing friction too much - and even though the official break-in is at around 621 miles, I've been lead to believe that most engines don't reach their full potential until around 3,500 miles (which has been my experience with the 2 other engines I've broken in with previous cars). Again, this is based on my limited understanding. Anyone with better substantiated knowledge please chime in if I'm off-base here.

I would skip the 1000 mile appointment. Stick to oil changes every 5k and pray your dealership gives the first 2 for free (5k and 10k) and uses the correct oil (5W30 synthetic or 5W30 conventional is fine). Consider yourself lucky if they do all that lol.
