Default Dashboard Screen Damage

Hey guys, just got a brand new IS500, two weeks in and I already ****ed up my dashboard screen. Any advice how to remove this?

I was wiping the dashboard with my Meguiars Insane Shine Protectant with a microfiber cloth. Wiped the screen and it left these ****ing marks that won’t come off anymore.

Probably shouldn’t have done this while it’s 105 degrees outside.

HELP!

The dash lens is pretty sensitive. You might want to get a new one.

The Gtechniq panel prep removes all sorts of residue for ceramic coating, maybe it'll remove that too. I would look to see if it you can apply it to plastic Tobe safe. I applied it to the trim on my car without issue.

I fixed it, I went in there and rubbed it all off with my thumb. I need a thumb replacement now…

That's a relief! Little elbow (thumb) grease fixes a lot 😁

Good to know! I know that a lot of owners have ended up replacing their gauge cluster screens for this same reason... maybe all is not lost.

Its really easy to do. I have fixed it in the past by using Polywatch. Its used to remove the scratches from plastic watch lenses. Works a treat.

As a side note, the piece/lens for this is only 50 bucks. The dealer will replace this for like 250 bucks unlike other brand gage clusters. It is real sensitive To scratches.

The marks came back….I think they are permanently on there, I’m going to talk to a Lexus Service tech and see what they can do. I looked up part and it’s only $50 idk what they are gonna charge for labor to replace it.

This my first Toyota/ Lexus and why is this glass so sensitive? I thought Toyotas are supposed to be of high durability. Even the damn exterior paint / clear coat is so soft and marks up easily.

The service advisor told me to bring it in and have the tech take a look at it, hopefully they’ll cover it for free. Keep you guys posted.
