Default Is there permanent power in the mirror housing for a dashcam?

Hi all. I've seen a number of folks on this forum and elsewhere install dashcams and radar detectors by tapping into the power for the mirror or ACC camera in the rearview mirror housing. However, all these people seem to note that these wires only have power when the ignition is on. I want to find a power source that's always receiving power so the dashcam parking mode can function.

I suspect that there is an always-powered wire since the official Lexus Dashcam has some sort of parking mode and it taps into power inside the mirror housing. However, I can't find any manuals or instructions for installing the Lexus dashcam so I can't confirm which wire they tap into.

Does anyone know which wires, if any, in the mirror housing for the IS always have power?

Yes, it does. Your homelink mirror is powered even with the ignition off.

I just installed a Fitcamx, looks good but it is a shame there is no parking mode.

there is, but you have to wire it to a constant power wire. the OP was asking for a source to where you can tap into using the oem housing. fitcamx has a wire kit that can active parking mode, but you have to tap into the fuse box. if you're good at wiring, you can tap into both an acc and constant power without tapping into the fuse box.
