Dude, I test-drove the IS500 and LC500 back-to-back, and had the cash to buy both. I strongly preferred the IS. I love the looks of the LC, but it just seems dead and inert and really drives like an old man's car, no rustling of the jimmies. So I bought the IS500, which always leaves me invigorated with a smile on my face.

I did the same. While the looks of the LC are out of this world, I found the driving excitement to be a bit lacking compared to the IS500. The car felt heavy ; the car is heavy. This is noticeable. That, along with the lack of any usable rear seats and the ridiculous $130K price tag, was the deal breaker for me. I just could not justify spending that kind of coin for this vehicle. On the + side for the LC, the 10 speed transmission is head and shoulders above the 8-speed in the IS.

I hear ya...I'm just making a recommendation for a person who is clearly not interested in the IS 5. I remember when people called Corvettes an old man's car.

I've never driven the LC 500, but I would probably get the LC if they were closer in price. Probably the best looking car I have ever seen and is aging very well. I'll take a coupe.

I personally loved the LC when I drove it. It felt very nice and solid and connected to the pavement. Steering was perhaps a little more numb than in the IS, but otherwise fantastic-driving car. The transmission is pretty much perfect - solves a lot of the issues the 8-speed has while still retaining some personality.

Having said that, is it worth $40k more than an IS 500? I'd say probably not.

I have owned my LC for four years now. I came from an ISF. I have not driven an IS500. You are correct about the transmission, much better then my ISF You are also correct about the weight, but to me it feels light on it's feet. I always drive on the stiffest suspension settings. I am also running wider Vossen 21" wheels with wider PS4S Michelins. And YES, I'll take my LC any day over my ISF or most anything out there

The Corvette is still an old man's car. I always wanted one as a kid but now that I know, I bought a 911 as my fun daily. From my dad's experience Corvettes are computerized junk that will fail time and again.
