Words of Encouragement
Hey everyone. Over the weekend one of the forum members here informed me they intend on selling their vehicle and I was offered dibs on buying it at a great price. However, I feel that this person shouldn’t sell their car no matter how little they drive it. So….. I am dedicating this thread to remind them of how great the 2UR-GSE is. So please, post away your best memories with the car and all the reasons why this person should keep their car until the wheels fall off.

Here's a glimpse from 2043, when I'll be 72 and my molten magma IS500 will still be in my garage:
What a beautiful morning, light dew on the ground, fog, not hot yet. Make my was past the two lame-*** electric self-driving transportation pods in the garage and fold my old bones into the IS500, which still looks great and presents as new. Sure glad I kept this last of the great V8s. Fire it up and enjoy the sound. Back out of the garage and head off for a little drive. All of the other vehicles on the road are silent now, slowly and predictably driving themselves, with their owners spaced-out inside like stowaway rats playing video games or whatever it is people do on their implanted "smart" devices now. They make great pylons on the highway to bob and weave around. I have to pay extra every year just to register the IS, what with its gasoline v8 and lack of self-driving, but it's worth it. I disabled the mandatory speed/tracking device that the state and the insurance companies insists on for all human-driven vehicles now, so I can drive as a I please. Yeah, I get pulled over from time to time, but I just feign ignorance and confusion about the whole thing and the traffic officer almost always just gives me a stern warning to go get it fixed. The funny thing about the IS is, even at 20 years old, everything still works: A/C, CD player, even that damn trackpad. And the engine just purrs all day. Anyway, that's all I've got for today, go away now..

I know what you mean, that engine isbthe most amazing part of this car, and i can relate as i dont drive mine a lot too. Mind you, the weather has been horrible this summer and with the few serious events i have gone through...

Ngl I keep getting this feeling a lot lol, cause personally I just wanted a IS350 with the handling package and BBS wheels. Also the money involved with purchasing this car always has me second guess. However, whenever I drive the car spiritedly, I tend to forget all those things that. As much as I want to let go of mine as well, I dont think it wont be just because I'm unhappy but rather if an unexpected problem occurs and money is absolutely tight. This car is part of a dying breed and I'm glad to own of these amazing cars.

I've worked at a car dealer and I've seen it there in trade-ins but I have also parked near a car that was full of crap. My favorite is the guy who traded in some crappy Jeep Compass and left literal garbage bags full of garbage in the back seat. Why?

Same. I may have to trade mine next summer when we we send three more kids to private school! All good, though, because I bought it used and won’t get killed on the value. And hey— would likely trade it on a 2021 ES 350 which ain’t a bad way to live, either!!

Side note, I loved my ES. If it was RWD with more power I'd buy one again. It's hard to pull out quickly in traffic with FWD, you just don't go anywhere lol
And about the possible purchase.... it seems like win/win since the car would stay in the family. I guess that's not the point of this thread, but we all won't keep these forever unfortunately. I probably won't either...

I didn’t see much encouragement, so as the reigning Ultimate FanBoy… I’ll do it.
KEEP AND DRIVE YOUR EFFING CAR!!!!
Weather aside, the siren’s song of this car should make you fire it up at every chance you can get.
Does the car make you smile when you see it?
KEEP AND DRIVE YOUR EFFING CAR!!!!
Does the car make you feel good things when fired up?
KEEP AND DRIVE YOUR EFFING CAR!!!!
Does the car make YOU feel special as you jet down the road?
KEEP AND DRIVE YOUR EFFING CAR!!!!
If you do not feel any of those things, then the car was never for you and it deserves to be with someone like Tipsy.
HE WILL KEEP AND DRIVE HIS EFFING CAR!!!!
😜😎
