I can't say who, out of respect, but a higher up at my local Lexus dealership drives a 2023 IS500 and has the bumper separation issue. In talking to him a few weeks ago he stated that Lexus shipped a raw, unpainted bumper to the dealership to be painted and temporarily installed on his car. They had Lexus regional folks in to oversee and inspect during removal and installation of the temp unit. They ended up taking the old bumper back with them to send off to their engineers. They are well aware of the problem and are working towards a solution. This has been about 60 days ago.
Awesome! They did the same for Ryan (LE owner here in Atlanta), kept his car for 30+ days to test, and it started to separate again a few months after he got it back. 😞

60 days means it's August, and MY2024 IS 500s are being made since September. I think people who have access or work at dealerships here should be able to see the Bumper bracket, Bumper part numbers for 2022-2024 IS 500s to see if anything changed.
I really hope to hear something from Lexus, also I wonder if it warrants a bumper change, that would be a massive PITA, esp with paint not matching. Fingers crossed for a TSB soon for this problem. I always think about it it has become a daunting thought that a brand new car and a Lexus that too made in Japan has such issues.
As one member from Canada already did, the easy and more stable fix is to install cables or metal rods/brackets that grab the bumper from the inside bottom and attaches to the upper frame; this holds it up securely and could be installed on both sides. To remove and replace all affected or batch of bumpers would be a nightmare, would be expensive, and there would be a paint mismatch.
Yes, a Paint mismatch means a aotential loss of value for every single IS 500 sold one cannot really satisfy any resale as this is a TSB so paint mismatch, many associate a paint mismatch being something happened. So I really doubt that would be the path for Lexus to take on a swan song 3IS with 2UR. Plus total sales of IS 500 from the fantastic datasheet made by OP are just around 3500 cars. And IS line from 2021+ on an avg sells 14K-17K / year approx. That's a TON of cars to have Bumpers replaced, granted that Lexus applies TSB at a later point for the IS 300+ lineup.

Not all that uncommon. I’ve been offered this option on my old ‘22 IS500 as well as my current ‘23 IS500. The quicker fix they employed on my ‘22 held firm and haven’t taken the ‘23 in yet for the fix.
Roughly 751,000 Toyota Highlander and Highlander Hybrid vehicles have been recalled because of an issue with mounting tabs on the vehicles’ bumpers that could cause parts to detach, the car manufacturer announced Thursday.
The recall applies to some 2020-2023 models, the company said in a news release.
"Toyota said its dealers will inspect the upper to lower front bumper cover mounting tabs and slots for damage.
If no damage is found, dealers will install retention hardware with “an improved design,” Toyota said. If there is damage, dealers will replace the upper and lower front bumper cover and install retention hardware with a better design for free, the company said".

maybe they took the bumper brackets idea/design from Subaru, reason I say that is cuz first gen FRS/86/BRZ have this issue, maybe it's a cheaper way to attach a bumper to the fender cuz I never seen an older Toyota/Lexus product have this problem, my 06 350 bumper sag by the headlights but that's due years of lowered car scraping plus hit and runs from the crappy drivers in my area. But so far I haven't notice my 500 have this issue yet but I don't drive it that much either...
So uhh, getting my 2023 in a few weeks time and have been pouring over the apron separation issue and am a little paranoid now. Just wondering how this fix is coming? Been 6 months since this thread started.

maybe they took the bumper brackets idea/design from Subaru, reason I say that is cuz first gen FRS/86/BRZ have this issue, maybe it's a cheaper way to attach a bumper to the fender cuz I never seen an older Toyota/Lexus product have this problem, my 06 350 bumper sag by the headlights but that's due years of lowered car scraping plus hit and runs from the crappy drivers in my area. But so far I haven't notice my 500 have this issue yet but I don't drive it that much either...
