They are definitely adjusted too low from the factory. Mine were also off from left to right as well and fine tuning that helped with the light spread. Adjusting them made a huge difference in nighttime visibility. They still aren't as good as some other systems and I wish they were active but they get the job done. The lights are mounted quite low on the front of this car so when they are adjusted properly level they don't light up everything the way higher mounted suv/truck headlights do but they will still go a good distance and the pattern is decent.
You can try the aiming against a wall method but I've never been able to find an adequately level surface to make that work. I tend to just go on the freeway and judge how the headlights are hitting other cars at a good distance. I aim for just below the side mirror level on your average sedan and make sure as the distance increases, the height stays the same and you'll have optimum light without blinding other drivers. Then I'll use a wall to fine tune it by making sure L&R are the same height and they are centered properly. Might have to rinse and repeat a couple times but this method has always worked well for me.

I think they're fine; they're better than some headlights I've had before, but not the best for sure. They don't seem any better than the base LED lights on the IS 350 I had prior. The main issue I have with them is that the auto-high-beam programming is awful. It can't handle anything other than a straight, flat road. It takes forever to recognize oncoming cars on even a slightly hilly or curvy road.

It seems to me to turn on the high beams too eagerly. I don't recall it being as eager to be on, it seemed more even on my 2018 IS 350 F Sport. I wish there was a high beam sensitivity setting to maybe tame it a little.

How funny I see this thread this morning. Last night I went for a spirited drive on some unlit very dark and winding roads with the windows down and the moonroof opened. I was enjoying the auto bright light feature and thinking how great this car is set up with these awesome headlights. I could see everything clearly, including a raccoon a few feet off the road. I think they are perfect. You guys with your first world problems!.

Ya my 3x LED headlights have been great too. The drive up to one of our houses is a winding and heavily tree’d road and we’ve had zero problems seeing everything in front of us. And that neighborhood has no sidewalks but plenty of kids, deer, etc, so seeing everything is critical.
Guessing it’s just a matter of adjusting the headlights more than abandoning spirited night driving all together.

So I tried to adjust my headlights and this procedure from the owner's manual doesn't work. If you look down the little hole there isn't s screw to adjust, instead where the screw should be there's a grey plastic nut about 7mm pointing inwards towards the engine. You can get to it with a small ratchet or wrench through a little opening just aft of that plastic skirt with the hole. After having been lined up about two car lengths from a wall, the aim looks fine. At that distance the top of the light was about 2 feet above the floor. I think mine are good as is. Just a heads up, there may not be a screw but instead a nut ... That sounds weird... .

If you have a long screw driver it will work. It will turn the gears.
