Ok, So like many of us, I want power folding mirrors like the IS500 of Japan, India, Saudi Arabia and who knows where else. I am pretty sure that the LC500 mirror are exactly the same, but have the power to fold. So I would think that if I get the LC500 mirror switch, along with the mirrors it would be possible.

The part number for the mirror assembly for the LC500 is

87940-11170-A0
87940-11100-A0

the last two numbers are color codes.


The part number for the IS500 mirror assembly is

87910-53A30-A0 Right side
87940-53A30-A0 Left side

The wire harness numbers are
82152
82152a
82158a
82151a
82151
82157b


not sure what if any wire harness would be needed or not but its seems to me that the mirrors are indeed the same, just needs to be wired and of course get an upgraded power mirror switch that has the fold button on it like they do in the other countries.

You can even see in the first pic that the part number 87940LH is the same mirror part number as the IS but this is listed for the LC





Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated. I really want to do this, but not sure if the wire harness is the same in the north America IS500s as the wire harness in Saudi Arabia or India since those countries offer left hand drive vehicles as well.

It all comes down to whether the money, time, and effort are worth it to you. I have to admit it's quite tempting.

Yeah I saw that post a while back even though I totally forgot about it lol.. I was just thinking using mirrors that look exactly the same except they power fold would be ideal. But reviewing the old thread did remind me that other cars have the exact same mirrors besides the LC500 I wonder if I priced the other models mirrors if they'd be cheaper or not..
