Just to confirm, the BV 2024 Special Appearance package is limited to 150 units, so based on the 2022 Lauch Edition numbers, Canada will only see 15?

The Blue Vectors pops hard, IMO.

It reminds me of Apex Blue Pearl on S2000 CRs, Cornflower Blue on MK7.5 GTIs, Mariner Blue original Miatas and of course Laguna Seca Blue on E46 M3.

Is Molten Orange and Blue Vector offered in Japan or is it an NA exclusive?

Like the MP, Lexus’ online pics do not do it justice. In person, this car is pretty cool. The flecks in the paint are amazing in the sun.

I follow several Japanese IS enthusiasts via IG and YT and I have yet to see the MP or BV posted anywhere. It’s a great question.

My buddy just picked this up to compliment his ISF.

I would love to see all three USB, Grecian Water and Blue Vector IS500s next to each other.

I could take or leave the color. I think it's 'ok'... The thing that wets my whistle is the blue interior stitching/accents, which looks KILLER. There is currently one at my local dealer. Waiting to hear back on a possible trade. Even then, a trade would be hard to justify when my current IS500 has full PPF, 10 year ceramic and only 3,800 miles on it. Not to mention I love the color.

Looks like someone didn't love their Blue Vector, Lexus of Birmingham has a used one with less than 300 miles. They only kept it a week.

Yep. I made a mistake. I traded out of an M440i GC into the IS 500, and within a few days, I regretted it. The V8 in the IS 500 sounds amazing, but beyond that, the car just didn't do it for me. I hope whoever picks it up is happy with it.

What did you buy to replace it?

What made you want to get out of it in the first place? How bad did the dealership ding you? I truly am sorry you didn't like the Lexus, not a fun process for you I'm sure.

It was an emotional process. I had wanted a Lexus IS 500 for a longtime. I saw an opportunity, and took it. (Having a bad experience at the local BMW dealership was the catalyst) Dealership hit me about $5000 total, plus a bigger payment for my M440i GC (still cheaper than the IS 500 payment).

When it was all said and done, I just couldn’t justify keeping a car that was going to cost me more per month, got worse gas mileage, had a higher insurance premium, and yet I wasn’t completely in love with it. It’s a great car, but the current generation of BMWs are so good that it made the IS 500 feel like a step backwards. I wasn’t expecting that to happen, honestly.

madpistol - We get it, we have all made decisions in the past that were made on emotions (my gf is one of them) but sometime, they don't always turn out to be the greatest decision. Lexus caters to a certain audience but is not for everyone and coming out of a BMW, I can see how you feel the car is not up to snuff - It is after all, a very old plateform, even though it went through some improvements over the years and the tech, if you enjoy that sort of stuff, is certainly not there. I have always enjoyed the Lexus driving signature hence why I have been with the brand since 2015 and owned several of their models since - The only thing mine were lacking was more power and the RWD so I was elated when the 500 came out. I knew EXACTLY what I would be getting when I got mine having owned several IS prior to the 500.

Now that being said, I think the styling of the IS is simply exceptional and while this is subjective, looks better than most BWM sedans out there. For me, I wanted to own this vehicle for a long time and this is also another area in which I felt the 500 would have the odds stacked in its favor. No car is bulletproof but with Lexus, there are less risks for sure...Now if I was 30 years old and knew I would not keep this car for life, I would have done the same thing as you but I am 53 and I want to keep this car as my forever toy - At 5000 km/year, in 20 years, it would have about 100 000 km on the odometer which is nothing for a Lexus. Sure, I will have other glitches and repairs but cars are not as simple and analogue as they used to be but I feel this will give me the best chances of the lowest maintenance costs. When I am close to 75, I may want to get out of a sedan and into an SUV - that is if I am still around by then of course.

Enjoy your BMW and sorry that the 500 wasn't for you but thanks for your contribution to the forum and respectful of the members that do enjoy theirs - some would come here and simply bash the products and such

Too bad you were disappointed by the Lexus, this is my fourth Lexus and one thing I've learned they are easy to get out of after a few years as they really hold their value but probably not a good day trade. I think because of the engine alone (last of the Mohicans) the 500's will be in demand down the road. I do understand these cars have much different driving dynamics then their German peers but that is part of the appeal or not depending on what you're looking for. Most important as a car guy you need to be happy with what you drive, good luck.....
