Have a friend in Norway that was the proxy and got everything situated for me. Without his help it wouldn't have happened at all. I said from the get-go I'd be the Guinea pig to test out mirrors for the RCF. I choose to buy entire mirror assemblies because I didn't want to just buy the bases and then take the mirrors apart and have something break. So I did pay for for each mirror. With Norway, prices are going to be higher. I paid $1,500 per mirror and about $500 for the mirror switch. Add on top of that currency conversion/VAT and shipping and I was in at around $4,500 total give or take a little. Shipping alone from Norway on the boxes was $500.

This wasn't a cheap mod on the RCF platform. But, it's probably my favorite mod. I think I'm the only one in the USA that has power folding mirrors on the RCF or at least for sure on the face lifted RCF.

That's a really cool mod though. For some reason I feel like it's something that I want to have done. If I buy the parts here in Taiwan it will be around $2000. I will have to make a decision here soon.

I am trying to figure out if I need to buy the whole mirror or can I just buy the internal actuator, mirror. I also want to make sure the plugs would fit the receptors. Do you have any pictures of the internals of the door after you took off the panel? It would also be helpful if you had pictures showing how many pins the two receptors have. When I went to the dealer here in Taiwan, they pulled up the diagram for the side mirrors. What components from the diagram do you think I will need? Parts are expensive here so if I buy both mirror assemblies, it will cost almost $2000 dollars. They also said the bottom part of the shell comes unpainted so I would have to get it painted. Thank you for your help. Hopefully I can pull this off.
Hey just wondering if you have any update on the the actuator/part#. I'm having a hard time finding used mirror assy from Japan and if I can just get the actuators it'll probably be cheaper if not the same price. I think I still have a connection at the dealer I worked at too so I might be able to get a discount or maybe even cross reference to a US model that uses the same part.

Unfortunately the parts were so expensive ($4000+for whole units on both sides) I decided not to pursue it. Maybe the parts are cheaper in Japan?

Yeah I know what you mean.. Its not like the OEM ones fold so me having to hit a button to fold them works for me.. but I am thinking the module behind the door panel is what makes them fold automatically... I might see if I can get a body shop owner friend of mine to order the module in the ES350H so I can see if it will make my mirrors in my car fold.. If it doesn't, I can still return it since its from a shop... But if I buy it, I cant return it... something like this part number 89430-06100

It looks like Lexus added power folding mirrors to the 2025 IS, hopefully this means auto-fold will work correctly and we can also avoid the issues with Japan RHD mirrors. I'm really looking forward to trying a retrofit with the updated parts. I have access to ALLDATA but it'll be a while before the diagrams get updated

Not sure how it is on the newer style mirror as I haven't taken apart my RCF mirrors.... however, with the older style mirror (round type) On my CT200h that I just retrofitted with power folding mirrors I took out the jdm power actuator and put it in the housing of my USDM base. Bolts right in. I can't imagine it not being the same/similar with the newer style.... I might take my stock rcf mirrors apart just to see if there is in fact a place for the actuators.

Pic for reference.
USDM on the left. JDM on the right. Notice how the USDM has the exact opening for the power actuator...

So it might be an option to look on yahoo japan auctions for power folding mirrors and then just swap the actuators... For my RCF I spent over $4,000 for power folding mirrors. For the CT I spent maybe $300 total... and that is buying 2 sets of left/right power folding mirrors so I would have an extra set of power actuators just in case something happens...lol.

You'd think it would be cheaper to have Lexus just have the same features on all the body control modules and then just turn it off/on... On my RCF there was no feature to enable the "auto" to work. There is another gentleman that retrofitted power folding mirrors to his IS in Canada and I believe since the wiring was already there, his "auto" button does work. Lexus is so stupid/goofy with their options on what comes/doesn't come on a car and depending on the market.
