I was perusing the ol' internets about IS 500's and came across this forum. Reason? Well, I purchased a 2023 white IS 500 w/ red interior a few weeks ago. They gave me a HUGE discount because it was coming into 2024. I previously drove a 2022 IS 350, then before that a 2017 IS300, before that I think a 2012 IS 200, before that a 1999 Tacoma that I still have as my off road machine...
Anyhow, I'm having fun reading all these wonderful threads about the IS 500. I wanted to get one before Lexus took away the last NA v8 luxury sedan (big rumors saying 2025 is when the IS will go full electric or forced induction). I thought about getting a 2024 but I prefer the dual colored mirrors rather than all black (plus the deal the dealership gave me... wow).
I put PPF on the front bumper already, highway driving out here in Cali shreds my bumper and grill. I'm getting windows tinted tomorrow, then I may move on to performance mods, possibly exhaust.
I better stop before I ramble on! Very stoked to have a 500 now though before they eventually go away (probably soon)!

First off, when it’s about excitement for this amazing car, RAMBLE away! Now if you wake up tomorrow, realize it was a mistake, and bust a$$ to get a bimmer…quietly go away and keep it to yourself. 😜🤣
Seriously…if you understand the mission of the car, you’re going to LOVE it! I’m almost 2 years in, near 23K miles, and I still smile when I walk up, sit in, start it up, and drive away. Basically I’m smiling the whole time. 😎
I 100% agree on the side mirrors! The all black looks better on some colors than others, but for me personally, I like the 2022 & 2023 design.

Wow, what an amazing welcome. I’ll upload pics once I get it back from tint today, for now here’s one of my upgrade from my previous 350 at dealer.
04gita - once I went white with red I just can’t go back to black interior (plus I’ve always owned white cars). I actually kinda wanted the molten orange but wasn’t lucky enough to find one to take a look.
DLPTony - I completely agree with the mirrors, for a white car the all black interrupts the flow to sudden, the shift from white to black is too sudden. I say that like it’s a bad thing but it’s just preference. So yes, on non white cars they look a little better. About to take possession of the 5-hundo and trade in my 350!

Seriously…I’ve seen those posts too and I’m like whatever. In the spirit of my old IS Freaks days: “Don’t let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya!”
So they dropped the price to just below $61k. So about $7k off total. The catch is, they took my 2022 IS 350 trade in for much lower than KBB (better for their numbers I think).
In combination, I would guess (estimating what I could realistically get for my trade in) is probably about $4k-5k off sticker.

nice Newport Lexus. Can’t go wrong with that dealer aside from Longo lol. Amazing people and I’ve always had good experiences there.
