Same here. It's rumors and spreadsheets. Not interested and did not click.

Is this reliable info? Does this apply to the current IS350 generation/facelift?

Short answer: no.

Not sure what the second question is asking - I think the current-gen IS is going away soon in favor of a brand-new replacement.

Given current Lexus direction for adding stupid tech because "modern" I don't care what they do. I have my car and I'm happy. If 2025 is a new car I don't think I'm going to like the direction it goes. If 2025 is another year of what we have now I'd be happier.

The current "4IS generation" IS350 (2021 - 2024 facelift, since as we know it's technically still Gen 3IS) - I'm wondering if it will be discontinued for 2025 or if they may offer it in the same format for another year. I know this is a IS500 thread so apologies for the derailment. Thing is, I want the current MY 2024 IS350 (I don't own one yet), but finances are not ready as of this time. I am hoping that they will offer it for another year giving me an extra year to get my finances in order. Plus interest rates are crazy right now and they've been marking it up every year so that doesn't help either.

I see. It's unusual for manufacturers to offer the previous generation and new generation of a car at the same time, but it happens from time to time. For example, at Porsche, there's a new EV Macan coming out, but the existing ICE-powered models will also be on sale alongside it until the current generation Macan is phased out. Ram has also done this with their trucks before, offering a Ram Classic alongside the newer Ram trucks. It could happen if Lexus decides to make a new model exclusively as an EV while keeping the ICE-powered IS alive. This is all speculation though.

Ok thanks. I guess we'll know better by fall right? Isn't that when they announce these things?

Probably? My guess would be that we probably won't hear anything before fall unless there's something changing in 2025 or sooner.

Lexus has not done two generations simultaneously full line. Now they have done certain models extended like offering from the 2IS platform the IS F for the 2014 model year and the IS Convertibles for 2014 and 2015 while simultaneously offering the new 3rd generation IS Sedan full line. I don't expect that to happen again but it might for a model maybe.

Yeah that was weird. I also don't like how Apple offers several versions of the previous gen iPhone. It's confusing and looks sloppy.

Glad to see you have information you think is right, but you don't say what it is?? Based on a good source I have, the IS will be redesigned as I mentioned in calendar year 2025 as a 2026 MY.

I never said I had information I thought was right.

Can you provide your "good source" you mentioned?

It's from Wards Intelligence, a trusted automotive source that shows the new models and model changes out through 2030. They're accurate on the short term (e.g. next 2-3 years) as they work with all the OEMs. They don't list any information on the specific engines (V6 vs V8) in the data, so I don't have that detail. Unless some new pandemic hits the world, the redesign is definitely coming for the 2026 MY...what that will look like, we'll have to wait and see.

Thanks. It is not that I didn't think that a 2026 MY redesign was plausible... it is, but again, there have been loads of speculative posts on the return of the IS F, use of the twin-turbo V-6 from Lexus, use of Mazda's new inline-six and platforms, etc. that it really helps to have a reputable source to filter out all the hype bait.

As I understand it the IS500 with a V8 was imagined and designed exclusively for the North American market and is very low volume, since Lexus pretty much eliminated the V8's in most of their vehicles, the LS in 2018 and the large SUVs in 2024 I would guess at best one more year if that, then again if 2024 is truly the last year for the V8 500 I think we might have some collectables on our hands???
