Default 2025 Model Year Redesign Rumors

It seems like the IS won't be getting discontinued just yet and will be sold alongside it's battery electric counterpart for some time. Additionally, it appears like there is a refresh slated for model year 2025. Exciting!

Not exactly IS 500 news but we'll see how close the guesses here are. That BEV IS rendering is ugly.

most of the stuff on that IS concept is not gonna make it to production due to all the rules for safety etc. look at our 2021+ IS vs 2020, our nose on the 2021+ IS are more flat compared to the 2020 and the past models

I think the sedan in the back on the far right in that teaser image from Lexus is interesting. It's not clear to me whether it's supposed to be an IS, LS, or something else, but the size makes me think "IS". Either way, it looks like there will not only be the supposed HZ or EV compact sedan, but also a more conventional-looking sedan.

It would be interesting if the IS500 goes until 2030 maybe that gives them enough time to update the transmission.

They mention remodelling the IS500 and keeping the v8. I doubt it a lot though.

there is this source but I haven’t head any others. Really unlikely they do a new is500 refresh. They don’t even sell the is anywhere else let alone the is500. More likely a new model with whatever that involves, happy to be wrong though.

To be fair, I hear "sources" of an IS-F coming back every year since it was discontinued.

But now? why make an IS-F after just introducing the 500 where most dealerships have 0 or 1 sitting on the lot? In my opinion (I'm sure others as well), it feels like the 500 was supposed to be the IS-F before they realized no one would buy a $90,000-$100,000 compact sports sedan with a V8 these days. So, they cut a few costs and gave us the 500 badging without the full fledged IS-F because they knew they removed a lot of performance items and cut some corners which helped the price tag look a little more appealing while satisfying everyone asking for a V8.

If we got an IS-F this early, I would be VERY surprised and I'm sure it would **** a lot of 500 owners off. Maybe in limited numbers, Maaaaaybe? But no way a full fledged release.

I had my doubts the IS was going full electric next year after the rumors, so whatever they do with the IS (maybe a new design with changed drive trains) my biggest concern was removing the v8, thus my 500 purchase. If it gets a new design, I have my doubts they are going to go the extra mile to get another V8 to fit, but we'll see!

Doubt that IS 500 will last after 2025 / 2026, as in 2UR-GSE. I recently posted some findings on the RC F, basically Lexus is cutting short of features from that car and that is their halo flagship F. Since RC F GT3 will be retired and replaced by new LFR (It is a turbo engine no more NA goodness) the homologation won't exist and RC F will be replaced by a new Coupe, that is going to be debuted in 2026. LC 500 since it got the new infotainment system I think it will last until 2026 and will be perhaps replaced by that new LFR. Remember the only cars left in Toyota that are due refresh - IS, ES, Camry, 4Runner, RC F, LC 500 which have naturally aspirated engines. GX is dead.

If there's a new IS F that means Lexus is going to design a new chassis from ground up, why would they do it esp when future of ICE itself is going down for racing Supra took over the GT500 class, RC F GT3 will be soon gone as well. And what would the price point ? I just wish for Lexus to fix the IS 500 apron that alone would make me very very happy.

It really depends on next couple of years, this is mainly political and government bs, few years ago EV was the trend now all of a sudden tables have turned, EU maybe backing out of the EV crap and stop banning ICE, and more automakers investing into Hydrogen or back to making more Hybrids. Also Toyota is still making that Twin Turbo V8 with or w/o hybrid don't know but that car recently trademark GR GT, maybe that engine might end up somewhere in the Lexus line-up

In reference to a new IS F; I wouldn’t be pissed if it was made, because Tony bought a N/A FSport Performance product. (Provided this new model doesn’t get the N/A V8.) Then…I’d feel some kinda way. 😂

The TSB is almost here!

The IS redesign is coming in as a 2026 Model Year in late 2025, and it won't be an EV. But the IS is supposed to be discontinued after the 2029 Model Year. No word on IS F or V8 yet.

I cant see them stretching this car long enough to justify another redesign...this would be the 3rd refresh on the same 2013 MY model. If there are tweaks, it will be minor in my opinion but how can they keep the V8 going longer with stricter emissions coming into the picture soon?

If the electric IS is not ready yet, sure, keep the current model (300 and 350) going to milk it a bit more but dont bother doing an update..they would look more silly ro tweak this car again than leaving it untouched.

If they were to change anything, i would focus on the tail light...i would prefer a style like the NX with the Lexus L and then seperate horizontal light bar across but not joining...i feel this is the weakest design part of the IS...first one to get it but they hadnt quite gotten their mojo just yet

I never ever clicked on the link, that screen capture said enough for me and no more viewing from me...i cant stand his speculations and spreadsheet that means nothing

and as I said, where do they even sell the IS any more, let alone the IS500. Not in most of Europe that is for sure.
