Aftermarket Exhaust service/mechanic recommendations
Hi CL. I知 looking to get a aftermarket exhaust for my IS500. Question is does anyone have recommendations on where to get it done in the Baltimore area?
I知 leaning toward the RR Racing catback. But have heard good things about the Borla axle back as well. If anyone has another recommendation I壇 love to hear them!

Ya, very straightforward. Any exhaust shop can do it.
Only issue you might have is some exhaust shops won稚 install cat backs as most of the midpipes used on our cat back options remove the secondary catalytic converters, which messes with the emissions system. If just getting an axle back then any exhaust shop should do it.
Honestly it痴 a pretty easy install if you have some wheel ramps.

My Lexus dealership took care of my catback. Pulled gaskets from inventory instead of the RR Racing gaskets, which actually were just as good. With the valves closed I have a very pleasant sound. It coincides with the cars personality of beauty and beast, Beauty with them closed and beast when they are opened. I must say there is some loss of the elegance attributed to the stock exhaust.

IS500 Borla Axle Back
Hi everybody, I just got an IS500 recently and installed a Borla axle back exhaust. The car sounds incredible and it is the perfect amount of noise and tone. BUT, there is a horrible vibration/rattle that randomly happens at 800RPM cruising under 35mph. Or sitting in reverse. Sounds like a frequency issue with the plastic under trays vibrating. Anyone else have this issue?

The rattle noise is only noticeable inside the car when windows are up, and the rattle is very loud. I can barley hear it at all outside the car. It sounds like plastic vibrating and it happens randomly, the noise is not consistent.

Interesting, I'll try to listen for any rattling. I dont think i have those symptoms. I know my center console has a rattle but that was before the exhaust.

Thank you I appreciate it! Interesting your center console has a rattle. I feel like the location of the rattle noise in my car is around the center console or underneath the front driver/passenger seat areas.

I should be getting the Borla-Axleback installed next week since the weather will be well in the 60s. This entire week cold & did not want to take the car out because I just had new Michelin Pilot Sport 4s (Summer) tires installed.

I really like the Borla exhaust on my car, it sounds amazing! Great sound, does not drone on the highway, or at any certain speed/rpm. I think you'll definitely like how it sounds. I'm curious to see if your car will have the same vibration/rattle issue mine has, or maybe even nothing at all.
