Hi Everyone. New to the forum. Bought my IS500 last week in Cloudburst Grey with the red interior. Love it. Does anyone think that the red door speaker grills look cheap and out of place? Or is it just me? I thought it would much better if the speaker grill was black. Has anyone changed that?

 

I've seen a few comments like that lol, including my own. I think it's one whole piece though.

 

I have had a red interior before but the one on the IS500 is wayyyyy to much. Would be good to see what changes you make. If it was a red version of the white, it would be perfect.

 

can't u use a hole saw or something cut it out and then make something you like ie: mesh grill or something like the picture below using thing sheet of aluminum and glue it from the back?

 

I had thought of something like that but would be a little nervous cutting the door card. My first thought was trying something like a thin coat of some sort of paint. I've got to think about it a little more. I was hoping that someone had done something and could share.

 

You know, I've never thought about it but now that you've mentioned it and I went back out to look at mine, I totally agree with you! You would think that Mark Levinson would at least put a ML badge in the middle of the grill.

 

Congrats and welcome! I have the same color combo. I personally haven’t felt that the full red lower door card was too weird. Maybe it will grow on you after more time with the car.

 

I think this car is so close to perfect that we notice little details..

 

first thing I did was put a Mark Levinson badge in the center of the grill. The plainess really bugs me. Looks cheap.

 

Where did you get the badge? Does it just pop right on? Post a pic if you are willing. 👍🏻

^^ Their also available on Aliexpress and a few other sites. I may order a set just to give it a shot to try and break the red on the speaker grill, not a big investment if it doesnt look good
