Typical Europeans, they just don't understand the culture some kids grew up in. I grew up and was around the 80's and early 90's loud and fast muscle cars when I was a kid. Never owned one as I was always watching my environmental habits too so never had a v8 engine. Drove Toyotas and then Lexus all my life (still have my 1999 Tacoma). I was close to getting an ISF as a forever car but couldn't really afford it at the time. Then here comes the 500... I had to make a dream come true, a v8 Lexus with an old school feel (CD player, not too much tech) yet still extremely fancy.
I'm sure lots of people are like me and I'm thankful Lexus pushed it out here in the US. Granted it's not what everyone wanted in a new ISF, but it's nice to pay probably $30 grand cheaper for something close.
Anyways enough rambling. Next year is going to be a big indicator (in my opinion). If the past decade is any indication for the IS (every 4 years), it'll be a refresh or new platform. If it's not and it's the same line up, I think we can expect to see a new IS platform coming very soon after 2025 then.
