^^ I have said this before, the year the IS gets a refresh (either full overhaul or a 3rd MMC), the V8 is gone and I would almost be sure so would the V6! Toyota is putting 4 cylinders in pretty everything now with additional output from either turbos or battery boost. Sure, the V6 is still available in the Tundra but that is a big Jesus truck and not required in a sedan the size of the IS. I am almost hoping they drop the V8 for more exclusivity in our cars (lol)
^^ I agree - I am not a turbo fan myself. I would take a naturally aspirated engine boosted with an electric motor over a turbo any day of the week but so far, all my 3 vehicles (2022 Spark, 2023 Corolla Hatch and my IS 500) are all NA and I like it like that
I wouldn't read too much into this. Cars all around the world are always dropped. The USA is the center of the world and if it still endures in the USA, it still endures. And the political landscape in the USA may be shifting to let's just say a more-pro V8 environment.
I think a big part of it is also slow sales. The RC F only sold 15 units last year in Europe lol. Why even bother doing the safety and emissions testing if you can't even fill up a parking lot with the cars you sell across the continent?
Hopefully the twin-turbo V-8 in the new GT-style car will be a thing for future F-branded models.
Do not overlook the cost of petro in Europe. It has averaged $5.00 to $6.00 a gallon for30 years now. Currently, it is at $5,79. That is as of this month. Who knows how crazy it is has been or will get. I am guessing 91 or 93 octane was/is closer to $7 or $8 a gallon. I can see why V8s would not sell.

I've been travelling to (& driving in) Europe for 25 years. You'd have to be out of your mind to buy a V8 there as a daily driver. Everything is 1.0L ,4 cylinder, manual transmission cars, but with incredible gas mileage yet fun to drive. High gas prices in Europe are as standard as taxes. Just a different environment for driving. You'd have a hard time driving (and even more irritating - parking) an IS500 there, and the IS500 is a small car! LOL.
I hear ya and ouch! I defer to MacMasters comments. I pay on average 3.80 to 4.30 a gallon for 93 octane, As you said many times, the crazy state of California. I guess it would not be of the geographical state location as much as the philosophical state of mind for some of the thought process over there on things. Kinda like that prop 65 designation. Do they put that designation on a newborns wristband. I see that prop 65 stuff on everything. Geesh! HAHA. Why I am scared you might say yes!

At least you have an IS 500 to tell them how wrong they are.
LOL I just bought some new ear buds and that label was on the box! Reminds me of this meme:
Europe and a lot of markets don't even have the IS anymore, people are jealous that we still have the IS and of course the IS500 here
Europe is on the high road to electrification and has always been conscious of high efficiency. You can buy a manual transmission car with a turbo, 1.1 L engine that will go over 1000 km on a single tank of gas.
Just different than N. America Yes, there are a few who are jealous they don't the IS500, but many also criticize N. American's with what they say are big, wasteful, energy inefficient vehicles. My observations travelling to Europe for a decades now. Personally, I like to have both! LOL. That's why I have the cars I have.
I don’t think any of us are surprised by this news. I suspect it’s the reason we busted a$$ to get the 500 in the first place. I’m driving mine until gas is outlawed or this is available. 😎
