I am sorry for that mishap - I hate when I do stupid things like that, I mean in my case, luckily it wasn't on the 500, I just got married (lol)
nope, had to get a new bumper. So was pretty costly. It tore the tabs as well.

The exact same thing happened several years back to another car I had - ended up having to replace a LOT of plastic parts behind the scenes, but the bumper was salvageable (although no longer pristine). This is where my paranoia comes from, and why I would almost surely always back in if I end up going with the Swift springs. The problem with backing, for me, is that I live in an overpopulated city with a high-enough percentage of overly aggressive drivers that driving past a parking spot to back in would be seen as not being interested in the spot, and the person behind me would swoop the spot before I could even finish slowing down, much less come to a full stop to put the car in reverse - yeah, people here don't even bother to wait until you're entirely past the spot before they move in on it. In places where I can park more than 50 yards away (since most people here are lazy and would rather drive around for 20 minutes looking for a space that'll save them 2 minutes of walk time) it shouldn't be a problem, but places like Costco are *always* a problem.

I'll almost surely do it eventually, but I might wait until I have something else for running errands - especially to places like Costco.
