They have a new Toyota/Lexus GT3 car driving around. They have to have a road car version of it as well and people are thinking there's a V8 in it. Time will tell!

That new 2026 GT3 racecar consumer version is probably going to be another LFA like very limited car is my guess.... There was this rumor of LFR being that next car. Plus it will have a 4.0L Turbo V8 the footage on the track clearly shows it has a Turbo and a big departure from the Naturally Aspirated Engines that Lexus made. The car looks like a Viper / SLS AMG with that elongated hood.

Plus the rumors also mentioned the RC F / LC will be combined for a new Coupe, with the price jacking up massively nowadays across all automotive oems and esp Lexus. I'm not going to hold my breath thinking next IS will be using the 2UR-GSE. Esp how they added the V8 on the IS and did not give it a proper F treatment, also the IS platform is not a TNGA one so 100% 3IS and RC F will be axed.

Since the father figure of the F program has retired in 2020, Lexus began downgrading RC F heavily from 2022+. I mentioned it in the RC F TVD thread but I will mention again.

- AC Vents / IS Dash since 2023MY, no more Signature unique RC F built only panel.
- Illuminated Door trim from 2020 facelift
- Memory function for driver seat, this is still offered in other markets except NA, same like folding mirrors although mirrors auto was never offered in NA market. Since 2022
- Electrochromic Auto-tilt in reverse side mirrors, it does not even have Auto-Tilt mirrors now forget about Electrochromic auto dimming mirrors only rearview mirror is Electrochromic now. 2022+
- TVD, 2023+
- Engine bracing, 2023+

So I do not expect another F car, it will a radical departure. Also NA V6 2GR-FKS is alive in ES and IS only, Camry is gone. 4Runner grandfather 1GR FE is also going away.

Lexus from 2026 will be forced induction motors only.

Any idea on when MY25 production switch over based on typical IS model year cycle? I am trying to see if i can snag a MY24 before the inventory runs out.

New model years typically flowed in late summer/early fall. You can probably try to find the Lexus announcement of Vector Blue to see when to expect the switch

I know this is wishful thinking but it would be awesome if Lexus updated the tech a la GX550 - nix the trackpad, add wireless charging and Carplay/Android Auto.

Sorry but it just isn't realistic when this is likely the last year of the generation

I agree. I've been wanting to give an update on this thread for a while. Back at the end of May I decided to purchase a new 2024 Incognito. Put around ~1500 miles on it so far and I must say that I am absolutely in love with the car. If you are reading this thread and deciding whether or not to pull the trigger on a 24 or wait, if you have the means just pull it. I knew I was going to be doing a lot of driving and road trips this summer so I decided to and I must say that the ride quality went above and beyond expectations for me. The fact that it comes standard with an adaptive suspension (it's an OPTION in an m340i.. crazy) and the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in it really is a night and day difference from my old car. You all already know the deal with the V8, it speaks for itself.

Thanks to everyone in the thread for their input.

It's hurts to say, but the infotainment in my wife's 2024 UX is so much better than what's in our sedans. Phone always connects. Microphone works. Wireless ACP and AA. Good resolution.

Too bad it doesn't have V8

My car does all of that too, minus wireless AA which I actually prefer.

+1, I really don't see much benefit other than wireless AA (AKA, phone battery draining system). Our system does everything I need it to. I drove an RX loaner the other day and was kinda bummed that I had to sign in to something in order to use the in-car nav.

Yeah we had to make a profile in our 24 RX. After setting up wireless AA, we actually turned it off. I just like the nav and enjoying XM radio right now. Maybe when the XM trial ends we will use Spotify through AA more.

Our Grand Highlander's infotainment has been subpar actually. The success rate on wireless connection is maybe in the 80% range, which requires us to plug it in to connect. Far too often it won't connect at all (wireless or wired) and won't connect unless the car is turned off then on again. However, my connection has never been an issue in the 500.

2024 LC500 got the new Toyota/Lexus infotainment. Hopefully this means the LC is gonna stick around for a while.
Also might be a good sign (possibly) that next year's IS will get it also.
