No Change:
V8 engine
Looks/stealthy/sleeper
RWD

Change
10 speed trans with faster shifts
Better Brakes
oil/trans coolers
(I also want 500+ hp.. but it would be lower priority than the 3 mentioned above)

In time I'm going to add better brakes, more HP (crank pulley, midpipe, tune), and oil/trans coolers

No Change:
1. V8 Engine.
2. Styling.
3. Lexus-ness. (Ride quality, Kaizen ethos (I love my Toyota Tercel cruise control stock mated to newer safety tech!), and Badge Cachet.)

Would Change:
1. Snappier gear response.
2. Better cooling.
3. Toss Up -

a. Folding Mirrors
b. Wider wheels - So I can get those blasted Summer Pilot Sport 5’s! 😈

No Change:
1. V8 Engine.
2. Size. compact sedans are getting larger and larger, the IS platform is the perfect size/package.
3. Donut tire. (was shocked that this car still comes with one)

Would Change:
1. Upgrade the brakes to match performance.
2. Power folding mirrors and power closing trunk.
3. Full LED tail lights (amber turn signals)

1. V8
2. Gauge cluster
3. Spare

Would change:
1. Manual tranny option
2. F vented quarter panel
3. BBK w/ 2 pcs vented rotors

I dont have 3 things but I wish the gas/brake pedals were sportier - I miss the pre-2021 pedals - Gheez even the Camry has sexier/sportier pedals

I have to agree. I liked the pre-2021 pedals, since they had a classic JDM sports vibe to them. However, the newer ones do look more modern, I guess? They're OK.

So anyway, I decided to actually do a top 3 would and wouldn't change.

Keep:
1. The engine. It's perfect as-is.
2. Exterior design. If they refresh this car, I wouldn't mind it staying the same or mostly the same. It's one of the best-looking Lexus in some time.
3. The LFA-inspired gauge cluster. Specifically, I like having the physical tachometer ring. If they could give us more screen real estate while keeping that aspect, I'd be okay with an update.

Change:
1. The exhaust. I don't necessarily want it to be loud, but it could have a little more presence, like the LC. Maybe update the tips, which have been in use since the GS F debuted and are even used on the IS 350!
2. Bring back a silver wheel option. I love the BBS wheels, don't get me wrong. However, I think black wheels are starting to become too commonplace, and silver just looks better paired with some paint colors than black. Also, it would provide some more variety to the look of the IS 500, given both wheel options are currently dark colors.
3. Give us some power-folding mirrors. Almost every other option in the segment has had these for years. Japanese-market ISes have even had them before. Why not here in the US? It would be especially useful for the IS, with its large mirrors.

I seriously doubt it. I think we'd get something brand-new. However, considering the ES is getting what's essentially a massive update, like the new Camry (still the same TNGA, but exterior and interior are overhauled), the IS could continue on for a while. But, given how many of Lexus's new models are getting EV or hybrid trims, I doubt the current IS platform would be viable. Then again, it could be a Porsche Macan scenario where there are two different Macans on sale at the same time - the EV and the ICE model. We could even see a brand-new model name for the "EV IS", like we have with the RZ (as opposed to having an "EV RX" with the RX name).

Anywho... all we've got is speculation for the time being. Well, we have trademarks, too. But, those could be misdirects, for all we know.

No Change:
1. V8 Engine.
2. The Lexus Clock
3. CD Player (cant wait to play my old CDs)

Would Change:
1. Transmission
3. More Sound (i.e. Exhaust)
3. Side Vent (need more than just a badge difference)

A realistic change for me...

I wish 8th gear were taller so our cruising RPM was lower. I think my IS has the highest RPM at highway speed than any of my other vehicles.

I think it's a limitation of how they developed this transmission. They basically took the design of the 6-speed auto that they were originally using and, with minimal changes, got 8 gears out of it. To some extent, they were limited on what those extra ratios could be.

No changes
Front fascia design and headlights
1800W ML Audio and Amplifier location

Changes
F Trim (I know wont happen but a man can dream) - Bring back IS F again (fix bumper sag as a part of the the tune) - Venting, Brakes, Oil and Trans cooler, Trans tuning, Remove annoying VSC notification a.k.a Expert mode, Chassis improvement, Bracing in engine & rear seats, Rear suspension to entire AL.
Semi Aniline Leather F Seats. Leather interior trim.
Active Exhaust.
Remove Moonroof add CF roof part of F trim.
Remove bar light to RC F like taillights.
Increase top speed as a part of F trim, thus making it similar to every single 2UR-GSE top speed - 170-180Mph up from puny 150mph which every single car can do including Elantra N, E class, Acura TLX Type S give something that is worth for the Engine.

I can see the merit in this when I’m over 85mph. I thought 2000/2100 rpms at cruising up to 85mph was pretty good!

Now we both needs pics lol I'm at 2000 rpm at about 70 mph not 85! I'd be happy with 2000 at 85.

I’m going to try, because I’m super interested.
