Roll Racing The 500
Took my stock 500 to Utah Motorsports Campus for some roll racing last weekend. I was hoping to get at least an exhaust on it before I went but wasn’t able to. I got put up against a lot of stuff out of my class so I lost quite a few, but I did have a few good ones. The rules were roll at 40 mph until you hit the green flags, then go to the finish line. So very simple. I pulled in 2nd gear which worked well.
The Lotus Turbo guy was cool, he came over and asked me to race, talked to me about his IS F he has but chose to bring the Lotus. I messed up the race, my brain saw the start/finish line and I went and then caught myself and went again. Then let off a little early but it was a close race.
I hit the rev limiter against the S4 which hurt my speed. Not sure what mods this guy had.

Thanks for sharing the vids. Looks pretty cool. I'm a total noob when it comes to these types of races. I have never done anything like this, so pardon my basic questions. How long is the race? Is it a quarter mile? How many races can you do? Do they keep track of winners or performance?

Those runs look fun. Looks like you lined up with an S6 with the twin turbo v8. The S4 were supercharged v6.

Looks like a ton of fun! Once you add a catback/midpipe, you'll definitely notice a bump in performance. It really wakes the car up. I have found you really need to aggressively roll onto the throttle just the right way. Get it right and our cars are VERY quick.

1. It is 1,000 feet of actual full speed racing. This is on the front stretch of their full racetrack, they don’t have an actual drag strip and I guess their insurance is very restrictive so that’s the limit.
2. You can do as many races as you like.
3. Cars are separated by class, you choose your HP during sign up and they give out colored stickers so they can try to group you together, but you kind of get what you get which is why I raced so many heavily modded cars that kicked my butt. It’s also just for fun so no keeping score officially.

Yeah I’m really excited. I’m thinking the RR racing valved exhaust. I like the ability to keep it somewhat quiet and then unleash it when I want to.

I agree, you did a great job! Were you on the OEM tires? Even though the tire size is kind of skinny, with the right rubber, our cars hook up very nicely! I went on a mountain run with a Evora and he was surprised that he needed to keep his foot deep into the gas. The 500 can get up on its toes for sure. 👏🏽👏🏽
