Hi IS500 community,
I have TOM'S axleback exhaust with burnt titanium tips. I start to notice that the tip collected some road grimes, especially the lower tip. I tried to use car wash soap and a dish washing sponge to clean it, but only to find most of the grimes are burnt in, i.e., need to apply force to rub them off. How do you clean your titanium exhaust tip without scratching the tips?

You might want to consider Pink Stuff. You can find 500g (about a pound) of it at Home Depot or online for $6.00. Get the paste, not the cream or the foam. It is a pretty damn good cleaning paste that works on a wide variety of materials. However, because it is a paste it is a very mild abrasive, so be sure to test it first. It may take several applications when using very light pressure but FWIW, I've used it without problems on glass, chrome, stainless steel, ceramic, copper, even leather sneakers. It is 99% organic if that is something that appeals to you, though I'd avoid eating it.
