The V8 is back: IS 500 F SPORT Performance

I talked to my dealer today, and he tells me that only 160 LE will be produced, about half going to "corporations and sponsors".
And there is no news of when the regular models might come in. In fact, the way he stated it, it sounds like they might be canceling them prematurely.
This is a major dealer who I left a 1k deposit with, so I don't see a reason for them to lie.
I take that back, it's a car salesman.
Guys and gals, let us know if you hear any news.

So Lexus said 500 of the LE will be produced but they'll only make 160?
Then cancelling the IS500? Like not even delayed but cancelled for good?
All that would be rather dramatic and AFAIK unprecedented.

Have you even looked at the rear brake calipers on a 2021 IS 350 F Sport for reference..??

I think you misunderstood. There's supposed to be 500 LE available WORLDWIDE from what I understand.
I suspect 160 (or so) are for the US market. Perhaps that's what he meant.

You do realize the 2022 Lexus IS 500 is only slated for USA / Canada - North America region.
The 500 Launch Editions basically are coming to 243 USA + 28 Canada Dealerships.. (give or take a few)
That's approx 1-2 Launch Editions per dealerships.. Some may see more and some may see none, if they don't want it.. Especially in regions where these RWD cars don't sell like hot cakes..!!

Let me just bring something up... the 2021 IS350 F Sport has smaller rear rotors than the pre-facelift 2014-2020 IS350 F Sport. The 2021+ IS350 has 13.2 inch rotors in the front and 11.7 inch rotors in the back. I assume this is the same for the IS500. The 2014-2020 IS350 has 13.15 inch rotors in the front, and 12.2 inch rotors in the back. Strange brake bias change, don't you think?

to all the newcomers, if you hit a roadblock w/ a clueless dealer or one that doesn't seem to want your business, keep calling and emailing other dealers. that's how most of us have built a rapport w/ different sales people and/or GMs, some placing deposits, over the course of the last 6 to 7 months. in terms of production, you'll get different answers/speculation depending on the dealer. (Dec to Feb?) as most of us are gunning for a limited production car, many might not be so open about tips on which dealers you should or should not call, which intend or do not intend to mark up their cars. you just have to do your due diligence. not trying to be a jerk but just telling it from my perspective. good luck to everyone!
Thanks,
Sam
